Was watching Gremlins 2 on Pluto last night and kept getting an insane Israeli propaganda commercial. Basically young people with blindfolds on (I think they were Hamas flags) slowly taking them off with the voice over saying essentially that you've been duped into supporting terrorism, Israel is the victim and it's time to open your eyes. Really terrible stuff extremely condescending, shocking to see ran like a Burger King commercial.

 

I had a dream last night where everything in the world was AI generated and it scared the shit out of me.

Besides Kamala, Buttigieg, Newsome, and maybe Whitmer, I think it we are also going to see Tammy Duckworth and Mark Kelly in that primary race too.

Dems loveee moderate liberals with compelling personal narratives over policies, and I cannot think of two Dems with a better presidential narrative than the female disabled POC war veteran who is a card carrying member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the astronaut/fighter pilot whose wife narrowly survived an assassination attempt. I wouldn't count those two out for being surprise frontrunners in 2028.

I have heard a few people say AOC as a candidate in 2028, and honestly I think that would be a huge mistake for her. She needs to wait and hold onto her seat for another decade and two and wait until politics/demographics change before she shoots her shot. As it stands now AOC has no shot at all to win any race for anything above what she holds now. Mayor of NYC after Adams is probably her best bet for electability for the near future, but even then I dunno.

 

The advancements of the rebels in Myanmar is crazy. I have heard a few people speculate that China has soured on Myanmar's junta, and are clandestinely supporting the rebels, as the main reason for their recent success. That the rebels have agreed to help China eradicate the many Chinese crime groups near the border and are more willing to work with them on the Belt & Road stuff in the country they want to do. That is all China really cares about in the conflict.

 

My bet is they are using the referendum as proof of popular mandate to show to the international courts in hopes they re recognize the claim. Its never going to work but I think that is their plan. I think the potential for it to spiral out and escalate is very high though.

A lot of people have said that Guyana has become "the Kuwait of South America" the last few years with their oil wealth boom. The allusions to the lead up the Gulf War here are very eerie.
