I want the road to be shared* with a vehicle that is obviously different than a car. Not treated the same as a car.

 

But you also want to be able to run a red light. Got it

 

And like i said if there's bike lanes or if the sidewalk is a feasible option, I always do that instead. Because a bike isn't a car and the road isn't very conducive to bikes without bike lanes.

 

It's literally no different from jaywalking and if you're against jaywalking in all situations regardless of how little traffic there is then that's a really nerdy opinion and I'll never agree with being THAT tethered to the law

that's where i side with @spreadthehummus2321 that it's pretty tame and not worth getting upset about

when i biked i once had some pickup driving FUCK honk at me crossing an intersection because the time ran at when i was in the middle. shit startled me i fell and had lingering pain in my wrist for a couple years.

I've been having the same argument for longer than I care to admit, get proven right literally every single time, and every year have to go through the same "lol you're wrong and dumb". It's certainly annoying. It's my fault for posting of course. But it's annoying nonetheless.

 

Lmao god id rather argue about bikes for 6 months than talk for 30 seconds about college football

Anyway, my kid is super cute

 

The funniest part of all this is, I actually am an extremely courteous cyclist lol. I actually slow down and politely say “excuse me” and “thanks” to go around people, or I’ll just get off and walk my bike or go in the grass or on the road etc if I can, to give them space completely. (versus the cyclist trope of barreling straight full speed and expecting pedestrians to have eyes in back of their head).

I actually will let a car go if they’re the last car or they’re about to miss their light or they have an opportunity to get into the right lane etc. sometimes if it’s clear I’m the only obstacle in the way, I’ll pull over to the sidewalk or stop behind parked cars to let traffic pass.

Me stopping, looking, and crossing at single-lane, low speed intersections like pedestrians do is really not that big of a deal haha
