Man I really hope they haven't abandoned the podcast

 

Started binging this finally for the first time on Thursday and I know everyone has always said that the show really starts / gets good in season 2 (along the same lines as Seinfeld, P&R, and The Office) and I would agree. Somewhere during season 2 it really seemed to click for me and I think it also aligned with when they started writing Frank to be a true wild card.

While it’s kind of been background noise vs me giving it my full attention it still has been great so far and it’s amazing how quickly the time passes and love the deranged reoccurring side characters. “The Gang Gets Held for Ransom” was a true gem and loved the band/music portions of “Sweet Dee Dates a (redacted) Person” in season 3.

 

The scene of Charlie detailing how he operates in his apartment in S4E9 left me with a side ache, sore throat and empty of tears from laughing so goddamn hard.

“I don’t know what is, maybe it’s an ingredient thing - when you mix cat food, beer and glue together it makes you feel sick and eventually you fall asleep”

“I’m not eating cat food”

“ok but there’s like 50 cats outside that will be howling and you can’t get to sleep with that”

“maybe there’s 50 cats outside your window because you have open cat food containers all over your apartment”

“I need the 50 cats because there’s like a million rats running around my apartment building!”

And then Frank runs in, wolfs down the cat food and lays down

 

Frank running in and just wordlessly eating the food and going to sleep cracks me up every fucking time

 

That, Dee dry heaving doing standup/the dude yelling Jesus Christ at her, and Dennis yelling “goddamn jackin off to my!…” when he realizes why Charlie had his memoirs always get me lol

 

I love those little instances where one of the gang is doing something ridiculous but then the way someone else reacts to it makes it totally obvious that it’s a regular occurrence. Just like Frank running in and scooping up the cat food shows they do it all the time.

Other instances: when Charlie tells Frank he’s going in the crevice… Mac calls and is like “oh shit, he’s in the crevice?” Or when Mac is trying to make Dennis throw up from eating the skin of an apple. Frank walks in and is genuinely scared when he hears the news lol

 

Loved that. Give them some of American horror story’s apparent 16 emmys

 

Their segment was amazing, it almost felt like they were in character
