Yeah it’s the lineup of Final Gasp, Fuming Mouth and Devil Master and two openers.

 

Pissed I can't make Devil Master et al. tomorrow since we get Blazing Tomb as an opener, but life happens unfortunately.

Idk I’m digging new Panopticon. Not really a change in sound but I’m not really expecting him to do that at this stage in his career. It’s good

Fuming Mouth last night was sick as hell. They are heavy AF. Final Gasp is another band not to be missed as well. Their album from earlier this year on Relapse is VERY good. It's like Turnstile turned gothic and had a lot of Misfits and AFI energy. Speaking of energy: the show was kind of "lame" in that regard. Crossed arms and/or head bobbing. I think I am just very spoiled with the energy and madness of hardcore shows. I imagine if Fuming Mouth and Final Gasp were touring with hardcore or "heavier" bands the crowd would have been more engaged.

Hot take: black metal live is corny as hell. We are going to get up on stage with our costumes and not say a word the entire time or interact with the crowd. At least Devil Master (who were pretty cool live) said than you everyone for coming. One of the openers was a black metal band and set up in street clothes but then went in the back to put on their metal spikes and costumes.

Funny story: I wore my Prayer For Cleansing hoodie to the show. Got there for the opening band which were a pretty cool Black n' Roll act. I was walking out to the street after they played and one of the guitarist grabbed me and said: "That is a sweet sweatshirt, I play guitar for them!" We proceeded to chat about local NC bands and I told him I am going to the Codeseven show on December 15th, which Hopesfall is opening for. He then says: "I play for that band too!" I did ask him about any new material or shows from either band and he said PFC is pretty much done for a while and they burnt themselves out playing a lot of shows this summer. Hopesfall he gave me a wink to, so looking forward to that.

My ride bailed to go see that Frozen Soul tour tonight in San Antonio, I'm gutted, but now there's rumors that Power Trip might be playing the Fugitive show in Austin.
