Ocean City MD seems like my hell, from everything i've heard.

And Norfolk, while it looks “bigger” than Jacksonville, is somehow sadder and blander and has even less culture

 

Too caught up in the anxiety and struggle of daily life to care about city culture unfortunately

 

I’ve played two different shows in Norfolk and what I took from that is, “nah fuck this, hit Richmond instead”

City culture is literally my remedy for the anxiety and struggle of daily life tho

I feel way more anxious and depressed and pent up when I don’t have access to things like that to change up my routine

 

we used to go to ocean city maryland every year for family vacation and while it was fun as a kid I never want to go back there. my last time was senior trip and it'll probably stay that way.

TBH I'm not 100% sure how I'd describe Dewey, but that vibe you're describing doesn't sound like it to me. It's a weird town where lots of families vacation, but also lots of young and old people also like to be at the bars in town at virtually any point in the day, with of course the nights turning into a younger crowd doing their thing to live bands or DJs and etc.

I mean they do have a couple of "been here forever" bars, like The Starboard, where you could call it kitschy I suppose. But it's such a fun vibe there that it's hard to hold it against it lol. Jimmy's Grille is also a bit kitschy I think just because it sorta looks like a big beach tent. Northbeach is just pure "appeal to young people to come party here", etc. But the town is just a vibe.
