Gates was good but Julius Peppers was arguably a top 10 if not top 5 edge rusher of the Super Bowl era

Y’all CRAZY for overlooking Julius Peppers. He’s 4th all time in sacks and only a half sack behind 3rd. He was also the first defensive end I’ve ever seen who could drop into coverage and get interceptions. Peppers was a legend in Carolina and then he was STILL playing at a Pro Bowl level in his mid 30s in Green Bay. Was also scheme versatile, played in both 4-3 and 3-4. He should be the first guy on the first ballot no contest

at some point they fall off the ballot right? isn't that how the baseball HOF works?

 

Gates, Peppers, Reggie, Wilfork would def be my choice for this ballot. can make an argument for many others.
