I don’t either after seeing mention of possible legal issues.. didn’t even think of that before.

This is complete speculation on my part and in no way something I’ve heard but I think they think it’s a bigger diss to not mention the competition except in rare occasions. The Cody stuff was inevitable and I figure we get a few jabs at him when there’s a promo battle but otherwise I think they try to avoid as much as possible.

At least watching almost a whole episode of raw made me momentarily forget how terrible my fantasy team did this week lol

LOL at thinking Punk lives rent free in anyone’s head except TK. You can poke fun at Punk because he’s a self centered ass without actually caring what he does in the future. I think most of AEW can give two shits about the guy except his friends. This is the IWC creating a narrative because they love drama.

And if they do care, who would blame them? Punk hurt the company they helped create and was a gigantic asshat diva the entire time he was there.

Pretty much this. Notice that after he got fired, he disappeared from AEW news. Things went so quiet that people actually believed he might not show in WWE. When he got suspended the first time, he magically popped up with "news" every couple weeks that he clearly leaked to stay relevant and roiled the locker room constantly (and I dont doubt FTR/Starks/etc were a piece of that)

I mean, this is kinda the obvious point. Tony Khan, who'd gladly say shit if given the chance, immediately said "I cant speak about that for legal reasons" when asked. Punk got fired with cause and surely settled any legal action with an NDA.

I get him not mentioning AEW; but, this dude is the king of blurring kayfabe, and he's got no McMahon family drama references? Nothing even hinting at an upcoming feud beyond "well...most everyone is happy to see me".

Him saying he's back "wrestling" for the first time in decades in AEW mattered because its how AEW defined itself....and he wanted to claim the mantle. Only thing I can see that Punk claimed here is all the catchphrases he claimed to hate.

All this Punk shit aside, the important news is that Masha is doing a deathmatch tourney and has a good chance of winning.

I saw like 20 seconds of Punks promo on IG and that's all I really wanted to see, sounded like the same speech he gave 15 months ago in AEW.

"I dont know exactly what to say" and "I'm back" felt a lot more genuine 2 years ago, after a several year hiatus, then they did for a guy fired a couple months ago who surely was thinking of exactly what to say.

Dude's still a top tier promo in a company that has a LOT of time to fill each week, so it'll work out til it doesnt, but, if he's getting his edges shaved off, its a lot less interesting in the short-term.

Orton was really out a year and a half? That felt like it was 6 months ago.

I wish more indies would do noon shows. I'm actually going to this and then go back home for a nap and then out to the city to see Mae at The Bottom Lounge.

It's a pretty decent card, too. Seeing SRS "finish his story" against Shazza will be hysterical.

Dammit give Drew the money and the belt. He looked funny in his little biker shorts and leather jacket.
