  2. My wife has. Found out that her now dead uncle donated sperm and she technically had like five cousins out there. But I would not do it for the fact that police or the government will try to get access to the databases.

The 23andMe User Data Leak May Be Far Worse Than Believed | WIRED

The recent theft of user data from genetics testing giant 23andMe may be more expansive than previously thought. On October 6, the company confirmed a trove of user data had been stolen from its website, including names, years of birth, and general descriptions of genetic data. The data related to hundreds of thousands of users of Chinese descent and primarily targeted Ashkenazi Jews. This week, a hacker claiming to have stolen the data posted millions of more records for sale on the platform BreachForums, TechCrunch reports. This time, the hacker claimed, the records pertained to people from the United Kingdom, including “the wealthiest people living in the US and Western Europe on this list.” A 23andMe spokesperson tells The Verge that the company is “currently reviewing the data to determine if it is legitimate.”

According to 23andMe, its systems were not breached. Instead, it said, the data theft was likely due to people reusing passwords on their 23andMe accounts that were exposed in past breaches and then used to access their accounts. If you need some motivation to stop recycling passwords, this is it.

that's not weird, that's scary. I thought you meant it was weird to want to know your ancestry.

my wife did it and found out a ton about her dads side of the family, people she never knew who many of them live right here, she even got in touch with some of them, so she enjoyed that outcome. my moms friend did it and basically found out her entire family wasnt her family and she was raised by friends of her family and everything she knew for 50+ years was a lie.

    so, buyer beware.

When you hit a mothafucka, you hit that mothafucka Prestigious

The question to me though is, does it turn out the same way if they don’t end up with an ex beloved Texans player who ended up becoming an outstanding coach? Demeco Ryans made lemonade out of lemons. It definitely was a bad situation but he made all the right chess moves.

And his history as a player in Houston definitely played a big part in him willingly becoming head coach there in the first place, when theoretically he could’ve found a HC job on a team with a “more favorable” starting point than… the whole franchise being shamed by their ex franchise QB being an abuser. A lot of coaches didn’t wanna touch that with a 10 foot pole. Player alumni relationship definitely helped them get a good coach

They met with all the A list candidates this past cycle though, it wasnt Demeco and then abunch of lesser knowns

The job was looked at favorably.. ill be interested to see how the Panthers job is viewed based on who they are able to interview, I think thats a good tell of how its viewed league wide.. if guys like Ben Johnson decline then its obviously not looked at favorably.
