AFI is musical edging. It takes forever, but the end is worth it.

New video. October 28th @ midnight eastern. New song maybe? I'm freaking out.

 

I dream about them surprise dropping an entire album but I know that's not their style.

But a boy can dream

 

40 second teaser posted to Spotify. Sounds like the dialog audio is reversed.

 

This is gonna be a dark era for them.

 

Just recorded and reversed it, trying to transcribe. One part says something like "Follow me into this room. Promise me you'll keep your eyes closed. I can't let you see me sleeping"

 

Release sometime near Valentine's Day is my guess. My body is ready. Let's dig deeper (no pun intended) into the sound from Burials, or something along the lines of Sing the Sorrow.

 

Same color scheme as Sing the Sorrow......exchanging leaves for tears.......let's do it up (Yes I know that's random bullshit made to look like it connects back to Sing the Sorrow, excited for whatever case)

 

The playlist on spotify they made is called "Blood" and the song is O-. Dark as fuuuuck.

awesome. can't wait to hear what they're cookin.

 

Well, when I see A Fire Inside, I hope for something in line with their older work. At the same time, I don't think they have it in them to produce anything similar to that sound. I was definitely happier with their last album than anything else over the last ten years, but don't know if I'm going to care much either way.

 

I've enjoyed all of their work post-1999. Whatever they have, I'll enjoy.

 

I'm not expecting them ever to go back to their older work. I've come to terms with it. I think I'm just more excited that they're releasing anything. Hell, the album may suck, but some younger kids might get into and decide to check out either StS or TAoD. I'll take that as a positive.

 

They're going back to their All Hallows/Black Sails style. Davey must've seen Danzig reunited with the Misfits and it got him motivated.

In all seriousness if they can continue with what they had going on Burials I'll be happy.

 

Throw in a dose of XTRMST, and I'll be pumped on it.

 

I'm a huge mark for this band so it'll probably end up being my album of the year regardless.

 

On that clip that is on Spotify, it just says copyright AFI with nothing else. So maybe they are self publishing it?
