An hour and a half to drive 25 miles on the highway. On a Sunday.

I just called dad and told him I’m going to a sports bar for the game and coming after, fuck this I’m not missing Jags over this shit

 

Glad I came with a full tank, gas is fucking 3.79 here

I mean, its kinda your fault for willingly traveling to the abyss that is that stretch between DC and Fredericksburg. Its where dreams go to die.

The funniest part is that the fastest way ISNT to stay on the highway.

That section of 95 has traffic at 3am on a Tuesday. Its that stretch of highway where one storm last year stranded people for like 2 days....because people said f'it and drove despite every sign in the area saying "Do Not Drive, You Will Be Fucked"

 

My dads the one that bought an expensive house in Dumfries. He already knew I hated coming to NorVA before he bought it lol

 

This is so messed up dude

 

But the “back roads” aren’t any fuckin faster cause Virginia did a horrible job designing the pathway out of DC

You literally don’t have a choice. The light rail doesn’t even run on weekends in Virginia. And taking route 1 is just replacing bumper to bumper freeway traffic with stopping at the same red lights 5 times each

In Maryland transit runs on weekends and there’s always an alternate route if 95 gets really backed up. VA has no excuse to have one highway south and one highway west and that’s it. Literally most of DC’s workforce lives here, they want all the economy of a booming government contractor industry but 0 of the infrastructure necessary to handle it
