That's beautiful! Know where they got it? One of my favorite decorations is this large Middle Earth map that hangs above my desk.

    https://www.ign.com/articles/amazon...lawsuit-against-fellowship-of-the-king-author

"The Lord of the Rings fan fiction writer who sued Amazon and the Tolkien Estate, claiming spin-off show The Rings of Power infringed on his copyrighted novel The Fellowship of the King, has obviously lost.

As reported by Variety, Amazon and the Tolkien Estate won the legal battle against Demetrious Polychron after he sued the entertainment titans in April 2023 for $250 million. While Polychron's lawsuit was summarily dismissed with prejudice in August by a California judge, the Tolkien Estate countersued the author for infringing on its copyright.

A U.S. district judge also ruled in favour of the Lord of the Rings owner, granting the Tolkien Estate a permanent injunction to prevent Polychron from "copying, distributing, selling, performing, displaying, or otherwise exploiting" The Fellowship of the King or its sequel The Two Trees."

Got an opportunity to pick up the BBC audio drama on disc. Anyone listened to it before? I hear good things, but as someone who already owns the Rob Inglis and Andy Serkis readings, I wonder if the radio feel of this version would add much. I've heard it includes the scouring of the Shire, though...

Quick update after picking these up. I caught a sample of the first episode yesterday, and it sounds great! Excited to make my way through the remainder.

yeah, I believe they are more of a radio dramatisation vs an audiobook, but I'm not positive

That's right! Typically I like hearing every word of the audiobooks, but it's always fun to hear a favorite piece of art through a new lens, so I decided to give these a try.

Hey all, if you were getting a tattoo that includes JRR Tolkien/Hobbit centered things, which font would you "use" as like the "Tolkien" font? Google points me in the direction of "Aniron" but there's also "Middle Earth" and "Ringbearer" and Elvish and "hobbiton brushhand" and etc. Just not sure which one feels right haha

    Definitely elvish or hobbiton brushhand

New Lord of the Rings Movies Coming from Peter Jackson in 2026

Oh no. I'm guessing these will be the rumored Gandalf and Aragorn films? LOTR remains the best trilogy ever made, but they tried to re-capture that lightning with the Hobbit and it was dog water. Rings of Power, at most, is just alright. It's entertaining, but doesn't come close to the original trilogy.

That said, they need to learn what made LOTR great. For starters film ON location. Stop filming every scene in front of a giant green screen. No one wants another film set in middle earth that is a CGI mess.

So that’s the portion of FOTR that’s glossed over in a few lines at least.

If that's true then Gandalf and Aragorn will have to be in this. Obviously they'll have to recast Aragorn with a younger actor. Ian could still probably portray Gandalf though. Still, idk how they'll turn that into a full length film.
