you could make a good 7-9 song EP out of encore. way more than can be said about the following records

When Rap God came out did you guys also have to hear from a hundred different people about how it proves he's still the best rapper alive and how he did "everybody's own style better than them" on it? Oh and also I had a few people claim that he freestyled it (as in off the top).

the song is really just a dude exclaiming slurs for like 10 minutes, no point to any of it, no actual songwriting ability to be found.

Em stans are crazy to me, I just don't get it.

Rap God has to be the most cringeworthy song I've ever heard.

  4. I mean, he talked shit on Trump in that new song. I could see a lot of his fans being trump supporters, though.

Another gem lost :( wish I could go back and read some of the old reviews again.

everybody on my FB feed from the small town in fla where I grew up have 2 people they love in common: Trump, and Eminen.

Coincidentally, they have a few things they hate in common too: rap, women, Muslims, so on.

Can't speak on his fan base as a whole though.

  9. Man, that's sad. I consider myself a fan, but I've never bothered to go see him live and don't really "commune" with other Em fans online, so I don't really know what his fan base is like. Given his penchant for vulgarity and misogyny in his music, I guess it's not surprising.

If I ever have to hear this song I think my body will implode.

I don't know if I dislike anything in music more than Eminem.

When I heard Rap God I was like "wow he is good at stringing words together and rhyming words" but if he's not actually ""saying"" anything what the fuck's the point?

Honestly this new Em song reminds me of Dave Chappelle's Ja Rule bit, except replace "who gives a fuck about Ja Rule's thoughts about 9/11" with "Eminem" and "political landscape"

I just got back from seeing Lupe Fiasco for the second time in 2016. I first saw him in February, and he barely finished any songs, exhibited barely any energy and was on stage for an hour at most. He's one of my favorite of all time, and I'd always heard that his live shows were amazing, so assuming I caught him on a bad night, I bought another ticket to see him tonight. It was like a whole new artist. He fucking killed it, his energy was incredible, he rapped every song perfectly, and his setlist was fantastic. He was also fucking hilarious all night. He actually mentioned that the last time he was in DC he was depressed too which I appreciated him mentioning. He even did a new song from Drogas that was dope as hell.

I guess the point of this post is, if you like Lupe at all, go see him. So glad I made the decision to give his live show another shot.

Eminem is still very revered within the larger Hip Hop community, it's not just among white guys that like Eminem and Trump and hate everything good in this world. It won't take you long to find that out if you consume dedicated Hip Hop media. There is some backlash, but not much I think. I personally never understood the praise he got. He was interesting, if annoying, at some point, but he hasn't shown anything noteworthy except the ability to move his jaw real fast since forever. Even when he was making interesting music, I did not care, because I was a lot like this at the time:

STAPLES: I ain’t really fuck with Eminem at first. I saw “Purple Pills,” and I was like, “What the fuck is these n****s doin’?” But I didn’t really care about rapping. I was trying to hear some Ja Rule, like, “N***a, where Ashanti at? Don’t nobody wanna hear you rappin’ about your momma.” That’s how I was feeling in my younger days. Eminem was too aggressive for me.
