Okay i just ended my first listen. Solid as fuuu.

My top fav : YouwithMe, S&C, It matters, through, you are free, pol roger

Mid fav : Pass the Baby, Get right, IB, The end is beautiful

And ... i didnt like Pretty grids. Kind of song i'll listen only when i play the full album.

But it's my thought after a first listen, it may change.

Holy Hell this album is fantastic. Through is perfect, Pass the Baby is a trip, and Pol Roger I can see closing their sets in epic fashion.

Also there's a bass run in The End Is Beautiful that evokes Motorcycle Driveby and makes me really happy.

It Matters and Pretty Grids are great, both have a Silversun Pickups dark/delicate/dazzling feel to them, which is great because SSPU is one of my fav bands also. Pass the Baby is ugh very Alice In Chains at the end (lol) but solid and a good lead-in to Get Right. You Are Free is pretty cookie-cutter. End Is Beautiful is pretty weak for me as it's just Table for Glasses combined with Hear You Me and not a fan of the country twang on the vocals. Through is an absolute smash and the only thing wrong with it is it's too short and not flushed out enough, reminds me a lot of Work. Pol Roger is expectedly epic and has a 90's feel to it, like it would be playing in the season finale of Beverly Hills 90210 for their high school graduation slow-mo caps in-the-air scene. People might be making some rush to judgements here with how good the album actually is, but there is no doubt that it is stronger and more complete than Invented and Damage.

i share the same feeling than you exept for pretty grids that i can't really enjoy.

For the rest i agree, same feels about you are free, through a bit too short and i feel like the end is beautiful is weak too but i can enjoy it. Hear you me 2.0 or a kind of Please say no 2.0.

Hey now. Look at you. Way cool.

Album is great. Pass the Baby is the stand-out. I do not like The End is Beautiful. I feel it's like a poor man's Please Say No. Don't care for Through really (by the way they lifted a lot from Step One on this song). Experimentation on this album is excellent but overall it doesn't flow too well for me so a bit disjointed. But the reason it's disjointed is because there is so much variety and so many creative and different ideas thrown into the pot, so that makes up for it. Other than the ones I mentioned not being too excited about, I really like most of the other songs a lot. Certainly not homogenous or boring in any way, but maybe less immersive than their previous albums as a result.

Didn't someone a while back say that Jim says "fuck" twice on this album? I've listened twice through and I haven't heard it. Was that a joke or am I just listening really poorly?
