I’m not jealous of Stroud yet - I still think there’s a big dog in Trevor Lawrence when/if we finally find a good enough OL and OC to stop making a home run hitter focus on base hits and bunts. Trevor would excel in Justin Herbert’s offense tbh.

but I am jealous of how the Texans are maximizing Stroud’s potential, realizing he’s ready, and not babying him or playing scared. Texans offensive staff DEF doing a better job than ours right now.

Part of it is, they had no expectations so they’re playing like they got nothing to lose. If Stroud suddenly changes tide and starts throwing a bunch of picks and they finish 6-11, the whole Texans staff still has another 2 years so there’s no risk. But the other part of it is, we shouldn’t be playing “not to lose” our position in the playoff hunt. We should be trying to win the shit out of every game and trusting that our QB we drafted so early can handle a gameplan that involves more risk.

I still believe in Doug, and Mike Caldwell is mostly good aside from random games where his whole defensive gameplan will fall on its face, but Press gotta go, he’s making Doug look like he isn’t the offensive genius he is.
