The takes around Bin Laden are pretty wild

You'd think understanding the motivations behind the terrorist attacks would be a good thing, as it can help prevent future attacks from happening.

But I guess perpetrating the myth that terrorism against the US exists because people "hate our freedom" is so important we need to demonize anyone who questions it

we have no problems looking for motivations when a kid schools up a school. Other acts of terror shouldn't be any different

It is kind of dumb to me personally to argue about whether economic indicators for inflation should be used to defend the Biden admin’s economic policies when he’s supporting Israel in ethnic cleansing. Like ok apples are a little cheaper than they were but I think the whole financing the murder and suffering of innocent people thing while people beg you to do something to stop it weighs a little heavier on me right now

I agree they need to pivot to the positives, but disagree about those positives are. His approval is in the low-40s at best and even worse on the economy. People either disagree that the economy is doing well or don’t credit Biden for it. That battle is lost. The message needs to be about what they’re going to do, not what they’ve already done. Don’t run like an incumbent, run for actually getting shit done.

I don’t think gaslighting people is going to win many votes, but I think treating voters like adults and giving them some truth, and showing some humility, actually could.

 

I agree but unfortunately I don’t think that’s going to drive many Americans to the polls.

 

Why would it? There’s no one realistic to vote for that would do anything better.

Again, I don't think it's gaslighting people to just point out the facts and say we're going to continue to improve upon being the first admin in modern history to bring down inflation to normal levels all while increasing wages, increasing job gains and employment, and not causing a recession in the process, aka the seemingly impossible "soft landing".

Of course if they were really good at communicating, they'd also point out inflation was worse in countries that did less stimulus than we did during COVID, so clearly it wasn't Biden's polices that caused it, and instead it was Biden policies that allowed us to navigate the COVID-induced inflation better than anyone else in the world and achieve that soft landing that kept people employed and raised their real wages faster than anywhere else, recovered to being above inflation levels faster than anywhere else, etc.

And yes of course more and different ideas to fix the things that aren't fixed, no one's saying don't address other problems. I'd love to hear what if anything they can do about the housing supply. I don't think the feds have ever weighed in on local zoning before that wasn't about environmental factors or something like that. I feel like I haven't read any good articles about a federal policy to fix the housing crisis and increase supply. Would love to know what if any legal basis there would be to do something about institutions buying up housing like we heard about banks and zillow doing.
