Midtown did not play When We Were Young 2022 ... though I wish they did

 

I didn’t watch it, I only read a comment from someone on Reddit that did, but Roger from LTJ said on a livestream a while back that apparently Aaron got really fed up with their heavy touring schedule and wanted a break. I know Aaron and his wife moved to Florida during the pandemic too.

I did come across his wife’s Instagram recently and it looks like they’ve moved back to OC. Idk if this signifies that the band might be back in action soon or what, but something to note…

yeah was around the same time, and after catching the LA show with MCR in October, I was left wondering why Midtown WASN'T at WWWY, haha. weird

 

Homegrown would be fun

 

Yeah I saw them at their headlining show in Orange County and they were fucking great, super weird they didn't do WWWY

 

Homegrown WOULD be fun. That would be almost as great as Fenix tx for me.

 

They were way way too late for midtown reunion. People were clamoring for that in like 2009. 20 years later...mildly successful pop punk band reunion won't be THAT big

 

A drive thru invasion stage would be killer!!!!

General consensus on whether VIP is worth it?

 

I think VIP is worth it having done 2022 in ga and 2023 in vip

 

Is it at all possible to get close to the stage if you don’t have VIP?

 

Yeah you just need to camp or put in the work to get there

 

Side stages were a breeze in 2023 without vip

 

Second guessing trying for VIP... I'd go both Sat and Sun and was thinking GA one day and VIP the other. I'll take recommendations based on my preferences:
75% of who I want to see will likely be on side stages
Lower priorites I'm ok being further away while not relying soley on video screens (probably all of the main stage), but generally I like to be closer to the stage
I don't love tight crowds
Would be nice to have the flexibility to dip out for bathroom/water/food and not be completely screwed on distance

 

I went last year and the main stage was insane throughout the day. I was at main stage by 1ish for NFG and Yellowcard and had almost no view of both. Had to watch a ton on screens. If you are looking to move around between main and side, and get food/drink and utilize the bathroom throughout the day, I think VIP is a must

 

It all comes down to personal preference. I prefer VIP, I think it was easier to get close and move from stage to stage (other than from VIP pink to VIP green).
