I'm scared their experience being waste with netease means gacha.

Or netease first non gacha is equally worrying.

 

I mean, they also own Grasshopper and Quantic Dream, so clearly they're looking to expand their portfolio.

True good point. I had totally forgot l...I don't think they e actually released anything yet? I just see NetEase and my mind instantly goes to their gacha output....

 

Follow up on this. Yesterday my boss showed up so we could test something out in the building across the street.

When trying to verify we had all the tools we needed, he commented that "we'll probably get there, realize we forgot something, and then have to go back". My boss knows the score.

Then it turned out the screws he bought from Ace Hardware weren't big enough, so I had to bop over in the rain to exchange them. To continue the analogy, it's like I unlocked a whole new area of the map.

 

B2G1 books. Hmm last year their shipping for my artbooks was laughable (not even in a box, they basically were in a cardboard sleeve) and they came all busted. Hopefully Amazon has the same deal for the artooks I'm looking at.

That was 35 mins of refresh hell but I got the 512 GB thank god

 

I didn't get one... yet. Their site was shit at 1pm, I finally somehow made it to the checkout page, spammed the purchase button hoping it would work, and it did not. So when they got the site up and working and I go to checkout, it's telling me that I attempted too many purchases in the last few hours and to try again in "a while".

 

Which one are you trying to get?

I think limited edition things like this are fucking dumb. Just let people buy this.

Yeah, that's true, but I actually managed to get it and cancel my regular one. So that feels pretty decent. Hopefully they won't cancel that one haha

 

Ok literally all I need to complete the community center is a Truffle. I have been checking the traveling cart 2x a week for 3 seasons and haven't seen it. I am not building the highest level barn and raising pigs for one fucking item lol

 

I saw someone say they just bought the 512 GB and they're just going to do a case swap on the Steam Deck OLED because the regular screen without the anti glare is way better. Now I'm wondering if I should have done that haha.

Thoughts @oldjersey ?

 

I've seen people say on reviews that the anti glare ruins the OLED experience.

 

Then why did they even do it? I'm confused.

 

Player's Log: Trails To Azure.

Finished the game. Beautiful, beautiful ending.

I have only seven achievements left for a second run, two of which are linked solely to difficulty settings and one is just for getting all achievements. The last two are for scanning all monsters, beating a bonus monster only available in New Game+, getting my characters to level 120, and playing the game for 100 hours (overall, not per run).

I have a couple of thoughts.

First, I'll admit that when I played Trails From Zero, as beautiful as the resolution to Estelle and Joshua's quest was, it felt kind of tacked in to everything going on in Crossbell. I love that in this game, we find out that's literally by design, because originally the SSS never got involved with their quest and the SSS ended up dying as a result, so KeA created a timeline where the SSS did get invovled so they could be saved by Renne. Very nice twist.

Now, something I don't like about the game is that you have, for most of the game, six characters. Which is fine and all, because even though you can only have four active combat members, the remaining two can still be supporters, which also allows them all to be involved in story content.

Toward the end of the game though, you get two more characters, one literally right before the final few dungeons. Granted, they're not new characters, but they've never been active party members, and now they are, and since you can only have two support members, that means we're back to Trails In The Sky and how you have to choose who gets to be involved in the story and who doesn't.

At least one of the two characters makes sense to join the team and has at least some stake in a couple of battles, but the other one seems almost like a joke addition, with no real bearing I can think on the story at all. It's annoying, IMO. And it's not like the game ever has you make two parties where an eighth character would be necessary.

I just wonder what the purpose was.

Anyway, I will probably go ahead and try to breeze through a second run to get the rest of the achievements, but afterward, I don't know what I want to do.

I know I said I would do something different and play Endless Trails, but it's really unclear if it even has anything to do with the Trails story, and I'm kind of really wanting to continue the main plot. So I may go ahead and start Cold Steel instead. We'll see.

 

It certainly won't ruin the OLED experience by any means. There are fringe cases where you would take a slight loss on the qualities that make OLED as good as it is but those are only going to be in specific scenarios. And at the end of the day A) no one is going to being playing a glossy and anti-glare side by side to even notice what they think they are missing, and B) it's still lightyears ahead of the low-quality LCD they've been using.

 

I'll say this though about glossy vs anti-glare... I've used both on the LCD SD for a bit over the last two years and in my typical playing conditions, I preferred the glossy. Light defuses and spreads across the anti-glare screen more and I generally found reflections actually more noticeable b/c of that.
