A lot of different approaches here for sure, and I can see the various reasonings.

I think for voting purposes I am going to have to go with the songs that I also hate/dislike lol. I personally don't think that Thrice OR Jimmy Eat World have songs bad enough to belong anywhere near a playlist like this, so I shouldn't give them votes given the categroy. But that's just me!

My original pick was Junesong Provision by Coheed but changed it because I realized I'm one of the few who really dislike the song lmao

I considered picking Aphex Twin - Come To Daddy

I don’t hate it, it just truly terrified me as a kid when I first saw the music video and that has stayed with me ever since.

Dillinger Escape Plan do a proper cover of it which I like.

 

It is so bad! But I know well enough from frequenting the band thread that I’m one of the only people who feels that way lol

Was very liberating to learn that the band hates it too

 

My alt pick was California by Phantom Planet because they're a great band with a pretty diverse discography and I hate that they're only known for the OC song. Ultimately didn't feel like many others here would have an opinion on them as a band, so I went with a band that is more well known around these parts.

 

I’d have voted for that! Always found that song a bit irritating, but it’s on a good record. I love Raise The Dead too

 

My first thought was Self Righteous by Third Eye Blind because it's one of the few songs I used to always skip on an album but I don't hate it as much now.

There's at least three songs on here which are bangers. Even if they're slightly on the nose/cheesy/overplayed bangers, they are still bangers.
