An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

some of the best modern horror out there - Midnight Mass, Hill House, Doctor Sleep

really fucking good - Oculus, Hush, Bly Manor

better than given credit for - Midnight Club, Absentia, Gerald's Game, Origin of Evil

kinda stinky - Before I Wake, House of Usher

that hit rate is absurd, one of the best doing it

Absentia is such a deep cut. And not bad!

for a no-budget debut, pretty damn impressive imo. there's one moment near the end that fucked me up more than almost anything he's done since

I've been (doctor) sleeping on Flanagan too. Pretty sure I've only seen Doctor Sleep and don't remember it at all. Have a few days off next week. Think I'm gonna try out Midnight Mass.

Hill House is so special imo. I could rewatch it annually and I don't usually rewatch shows that aren't sitcoms

grey hairs, get out of me zoots! Prestigious

Thanksgiving was really good, best straight up "slasher" in a really long time. I guess Terrifier 2 hits that mark, but something about thanksgiving feels more like 2000s high school horror like scream but with some really decent gore.

Midnight Mass was pretty perfect to me. Not sure how I'd rate the rest of what I've seen from Flanagan, but that is definitely #1 in my eyes. Hill House is probably #2. I remember watching Mike and Jay from RLM gush over MM and it was the first time I think I had seen them somewhat serious and genuine. I know those guys don't land well at this point with everyone, but I think they had some good thoughts on the show.

we've seen the shadow of the axe before Supporter

Where's the gif of Tamerlane Usher saying "FUCK BLIPPI" from Fall of the House of Usher

  12. I think about this daily

The line delivery for "I don't give a shit Beth" is truly iconic. I imagine this must've been so fun for people who'd played more serious roles in Flanagan projects

Christmas Bloody Christmas was fun for what it was. I liked it better than Violent Night, at least.

Looks like Thanksgiving is getting some pretty good reviews. Can’t wait.

  17. I'm supposed to be going Sunday. Might try to make it a double-feature with It's A Wonderful Knife. Also very curious about Saltburn.

  19. Oh is Saltburn horror-y? Wanted to go to the theaters more in October but all we got were adaptations or sequels I wasn't really interested in. Looks like things are picking back up again

  20. Still not totally sure based on the trailer, but it looks psychological-thriller-y, a bit like Thoroughbreds or Killing of a Sacred Deer? Might just be making that association because of Barry Keoghan
