I hate the other song, it’s one of the reasons I “hate” her lol

2. “… it feels at least a little insane to me to that this would be the top pick of a song to love from her discography (even though it's a good song), unless you just want something more purely country.” - That’s exactly what I want, haha.

To be clear: I like more than one song by her (all early work). This is just the only one I put on a playlist and therefore hear a lot.

Then isn't this just "submit a bad song by an artist other people like"? That feels almost identical with an additional stipulation that the artist must be relatively well-known.

 

I mean, if I wanted to win "pick a bad song" I would submit like, 3OH3 or Machine Gun Kelly or countless other obvious picks.

 

Which, assuming you do in fact like those artists, would satisfy the criteria. Obviously we've got to take each other at our words that the picks are genuine.

 

I have absolutely no idea what to pick. Like, rap and R&B are singles genres, so a lot of albums I love by artists I love have real clunkers, but I can’t say I hate those songs. I just never listen to them because they’re bad. That’s how I treat other genres too I guess.

I feel like a good pick would be an ubiquitous hit with staying power that I just dislike at first and then hate because I’m always being confronted with it, by an artist I love, but I’m not sure such a thing exists. I’m usually just indifferent to artists behind major hits that happen to hate.

 

My pick is from an album that is otherwise excellent

I picked a huge song I actively dislike by an artist I love. It’s not quite “hate”, but I can’t think of anything, now that my original pick is disqualified.

 

Actively dislike is a great term. Even so much as - I USED to like it, but now skip it the second I hear the first 5 notes.
