"The two spinoffs in the works are a present-day story with the working title of 2024 and another prequel, 1944, that will follow in the footsteps of 1883 and 1923."

"The 2024 spinoff will, as its working title implies, be set in the present and air after the main series finishes. It’s expected to continue exploring the Dutton family dynasty with new characters and locations, as well as some existing characters. Details on 1944 are scarce at the moment."

Sounds ridiculous, but I'm down for all of that lol. I feel like this universe still has tons of potential and interesting stories to tell but that the main series started spinning its wheels a long time ago.

I really thought that the prequels were all working to build up to the climax of Yellowstone, but either A) the production issues with the main series (Costner, in particular) threw everything off, B) they decided they could milk this universe for a bit longer and changed plans or C) I was just way off and they had no overall plan to begin with.

I think Sheridan mentioned in some interview that he had enough material, or had plans, for at least another season or two, but now have to shut it down this "season" basically just because of Costner. I'm guessing the 2024 series will move down to the 6666 ranch in Texas, with like half the current cast moving down there after having sold the current Yellowstone ranch to the local Indian tribe of the area

They essentially have to wait to film it all next summer (they never do the show in the winter time), edit it quickly, and then release it in November.

Really curious if Costner will even come back to appear in any episodes, and if so, how many. They're going to have to engineer his death quickly (probably an assassination or something), and then have enough time to have the rest of the cast deal with the fallout, and then somehow setup a pathway into the sequel series "2024". Surely Costner wouldn't be a complete dick and refuse to appear at all in any of the episodes.

Been rewatching this and 1883. Having a good grip on Yellowstone lore now I can see what 1923 is setting up, and I can see how it'll lead into 1944 and how that'll be about John Dutton's dad as a young man during WW2. The logical guess is after 1944 we are getting 1974, which will about teenage John Dutton, with probably young Lloyd too. There is that whole backstory about that old rancher John and Lloyd knew who betrayed the Yellowstone back in the day where they had to cut his brand off they could expand upon.

Also rewatching 1883 is bleak having watched 1923 knowing Tim McGraw and Fath Hill's characters both die horrible deaths not that long after founding the Yellowstone

My Mom just told me she's getting a bottle of Stetson cologne for my Dad for Christmas (which I saw in an ad from Yellowstone star Luke Grimes), and I know he'll be pretty stoked, haha
