Reported 300,000 people attended todays peaceful march and gathering in London today, in support of Palestinians.

It is the largest protest in this country since 2003.

It sucks but I feel like the only way I will ever own a home is if the market crashes like it did in 2008.

I would argue that Americans, even above most folks in the world, are uniquely selfish. Our lack of social safety net makes that not only possible but inevitable.

Most people only see the good outcome for themselves with a recession or lower rates, not a reduction in buying power with job loss or with increased competition for suddenly cheap housing - just the idea that you (and you alone) would get access to a more affordable piece of property without any risk to your own earnings, or current value of any assets you might own that are needed to purchase it.

  13. I mean a huge number of people who would like the mortgage rates to go down so they can buy a house would lose a job and no longer be able to buy the house

Exactly. These are the leopard people who never think the leopard will eat their face. They are the most American Americans that ever America’d.

Yep. The problem with that logic is they all think they wouldn’t be the ones to lose their jobs during the recession

It’s not smart or good to want a recession. It says more about how broken our economic system is and how bad the options are when market problems inevitably arise than it says about people though
