    hate my favorite band

I wholeheartedly believe that both Avengers movies are going to get pushed again, if KD isn’t outright scrapped or reworked into something else if you’re to believe people saying how fucked Marvel is because of Majors. (I don’t)

I'm saying we don't know everything about the films and shows that have been announced. It's not impossible for a character to be in something and we just haven't been told about it yet.

Edit: Also, Phase 6 is not going to consist of just two movies. That's ridiculous.

It's really funny in a "throw up my hands" kind of way that right now we have two threads where people are enjoying the latest ventures but here we just have people complaining.

I’ve still enjoyed a decent amount of the newer MCU stuff, but for me the two main issues are inconsistency in quality that imo wasn’t this prominent before as they dramatically increased the amount of content being put out, as well as the general feeling that there’s not a strong overall direction like the earlier phases. And the main overarching plan that IS there is centered around an actor whose career could very well be over soon.

It will probably have 3 or 4 more films in that phase, but we know 2 of them will be Spider-Man 4 and Armor Wars. The director of Shang-chi is directing kang dynasty. No shot that character gets a sequel until after secret wars

I agree, especially with the last part. Kang is boring and the actor may be replaced soon. It’s just a mess of a situation

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

let Benson and Moorhead do a Moon Knight movie

I've still been pretty consistently into most of the stuff they've been putting out, probably more so than a lot of the early MCU stuff and I liked the general direction with Kang before the Majors stuff came out but I also liked that there was a lot of stuff that felt like they were relatively self contained. I think it worked to not have everything so focused on a singular narrative after Endgame.

Doesn't have to be a sequel though, does it? The character can still pop up in someone else's movie, like has been done with other characters.

In my original post on this page I was talking about their solo movies and shows. They’ll of course show up in someone else’s movie in phase 6 (the avenger films), but I also said that in my post.

Maybe they’ll throw moon knight in a mid credits scene for blade

Sorry, I have trouble keeping up with your many arguments.

I mean, we did this dance before where I pointed out how long it took to get Dr. Strange 2 and the counter then was that he appeared in other movies in-between.

I guess I'll just never have a counter-argument that works when the goalposts keep shifting.

Wait, never mind, that was Justin.

    (writes notes)

Okay, Justin is okay with cameos, Oakhurst isn't.

    Alright, sorry about the mix-up.

The difference between Strange appearing in films is that he was a major character in Infinity War and critical to the plot for Infinity War and Endgame. Do you really think Moon Knight and Shang-chi will have the same prominent role in Kang Dynasty? Secret Wars is a goodbye letter to characters outside the MCU so they may not even be in most of it aside from glorified background characters.

I also think cameos are fine if they develop into something.

I mean, clearly the Ten Rings are of some significance considering the end of that movie.

As for Moon Knight, who knows? We've got a long way before Kang Dynasty, is my point.

A lot can happen between now and then.

But no, I also don't think every new character is going to have a prominent role in the Avengers movies.

But it was the same with the Infinity Saga too. The Guardians didn't have a role in Age Of Ultron.

Many characters didn't have a role in Endgame until the very end.

That’s true most characters outside of the original 6, Captain Marvel and Strange had important roles for Endgame. The Guardians had a sequel 3 years after their first film and then, even though the roles weren’t large, were very crucial for the story of infinity war.

Okay? I still don't get what separates then from now.

Like, I get it. You want more Shang-Chi. I feel like that's the core issue here since he's the character this keeps cycling back to.

So who says Shang-Chi won't appear in another film before Kang Dynasty?

Shang-chi and Moon Knight are just examples because they're characters introduced in phase 4 that haven't reappeared, but from looking at the upcoming films we have Deadpool, F4, CA 4, Thunderbolts, and Blade, with Kang Dynasty releasing about 6 months after Blade. I just don't see shang-chi appearing in a film prior to KD unless its a mid credit scene.

The Eternals I get because it's a prequel film explaining lore to the MCU. Those characters were probably never going to show up again unless its another eternals film (except for maybe Eros). Ms Marvel was just in a film. She-Hulk could maybe be in CA4 since it seems to be very "hulk" characters centered (without any bruce banner rumors going around which is odd, but whatever). Then you have the characters in black widow appearing in thunderbolts. So to bounce it back up the top, that's why I've used Shang-chi and moon knight as character examples.

What I'm hearing is that you're focusing on the examples that fit your agenda.

BTW, not to add fuel to your fire, but Eternals was not primarily a prequel, but I do see them as the Guardians of this phase and thus somewhat detached.

It should also be noted that not every character is going to end up tying into Avengers. I actually doubt Moon Knight will ever enter that world, but will be more likely to meet up with Daredevil and other street level heroes.

Which is fine to explore other corners of the MCU. Not everything has to be a part of the overall narrative to be worth exploring. Not every character has to end up in an Avengers film.

Addendum about Fantastic Four. I didn't realize this until now, but May was the intended release date before all these other films got pushed back, so it's entirely possible it will be delayed as well.
