In retrospect I actually kinda like that they just throw you into it and don't explain anything until later. It's definitely confusing at first but I think it's a risk that ultimately pays off

 

I really hope it clicks for me! I love the setting and characters so much but being a third of the way in and not hooked is a bit of a bummer

also guess I didn't post about Distant Lands here. thought the BMO and Pep episodes were just okay but the other two were absolutely phenomenal. a couple moments in there like Marcy realising what the red light was and Finn's dream about Jake that were on par with the best of the original show. I don’t know why they sequenced it to end on Wizard City though, weird note to end on

 

didn't really like the rest of the season any better unfortunately. the pacing was so weird all through, like stuff like Prismo revealing he created Fionna and Cake is written so anticlimactically it barely registers but we spend four episodes doing multiversal shenanigans that don't really advance the plot at all just to throw a bunch of references around? not my favourite decision, the vampire world was cool though

 

The show felt pretty self contained, so I did not see that coming. But I trust that they already had a good idea for where to go next

'Adventure Time' Movie, Two New Series Unveiled at Annecy Festival

It sounds like the two series are geared towards younger kids and won't be as lore-heavy as the original series or Fiona and Cake. I'm very curious about the movie, though.
