Honestly the monetization stuff never really bothered me. Charging me $40 a year for an expansion and then an additional $10 (I guess that recently went up to $15) every few months for a season if I’m still playing didn’t seem that bad for the amount of content I was getting. The cosmetic stuff is insanely priced, but I never cared about that lol. I’ve been playing up until this season even and still enjoying myself plenty as a relatively casual player.

But man, the treatment of employees here is so sad and I can’t imagine there’s going to be ANY content to fill the gap to make up for this very long delay. Going to absolutely kill any hype I have going into Final Shape.

 

For a free game? Nothing.

 

I rather pay for an expansion than all the shitty microtransactions

 

Destiny 2 is not a free game and never really has been. The f2p experience is more or less a demo.

 

Does WoW still do paid expansions? Is it free to play or just free to a certain level?

 

If Warframe can do it, there really is no excuse. Especially since Sony owns them now… oh people are getting still getting fired so I guess that didn’t mean shit after all

I definitely can appreciate why Alan Wake 2 is so hyped, like I get it, but after about 6 hrs I’ve come to the conclusion it’s just not for me.

 

What didn’t you like?

 

It’s 100% a slow burn but it’s top tier writing. It’s the first truly great True Crime/Suspense Horror.

 

Not really into the story side of things and it’s got some pacing issues for me. I still find the actual gameplay kind of clunky and I’m just not that into the scene-building aspect of advancing the story, but definitely think it’s a cool idea at the same time. All personal preference qualms.

 

Sony seems to be struggling after the ABK deal. I think they had banked on Microsoft not getting it and now they are freaking out.

 

Yeah, if you arent vibing with Alan Wake's story there is really no reason to keep playing. Not saying the gameplay sucks, but the world and atmosphere is the real star.

 

The gameplay is my least favorite part of Alan Wake 2. But the visuals, music, atmosphere, and story more than make up for it.

Anyway, the opening of AW2 is the most WTF of any game I’ve ever played. @mescalineeyes and I were talking about it.

 

70% GPU utilization at DLSS quality was pretty wtf :’)

AW2 just captures the atmosphere the first one was trying to convey so well. But I get it’s not for everyone.

 

I think it would just be a lot of threads to keep track of if we make one for every AAA game or people would miss it completely. People talk about a game for about a week in here and then move on to the next thing
