Got charged $132 for a dental filling when my insurance should be alotting me $2000 a year.. I'm confused. Maybe because it was a replacement of an existing one that popped out.

Also, my dentist made me so fucking nervous. His hands were incredibly shaky the whole time and his head was shaking as well. When he talked to me, he was clenching his hands together very tightly to clearly try and hide it. My fiance thinks I'm exaggerating, but this guy clearly has something wrong with him and I don't think he should be practicing medicine that involves needles and drills in someone's mouth.

He did do a good job though, I just thought I was gonna have a panic attack during it haha

Did they show you the break down? How many surfaces was involved? Was the previous filling done at the same office and how long ago
Depending on your insurance, fillings aren’t covered 100%. It’s usually 80% and if you haven’t used it for anything this year (assuming it’s a calendar year plan) they classify as “restorative” or “major”, the deductible may have been applied

Same price as the initial fee! I was lucky to know someone and only have to pay $60 for my renewal. But still… in two years you gotta pay again and im sure fees will go up

It was done at a separate office about 5 years ago so maybe that's it?

Insurance should cover a portion of it. It Without seeing the treatment plan, the fee, and what your insurance covers it’s hard to say. It may be accurate

Yeah I asked for a receipt and they just gave me a debit card receipt, I expected something itemized haha. Guess I could give them a call

Doesn’t hurt. Try asking for a copy of the treatment plan for that procedure.
My office the consent forms/treatment plans show the breakdown. And what the patient owes. Don’t be afraid to ask questions if you feel like the amount is a lot. They should be able to explain where the amount comes from

I know people like this as well. Even if it was “just the flu” the flu fucking sucks!! And we’ve been getting flu shots for years to prevent us from getting the flu

So I’m watching greys anatomy and they have this character who is a patient who lost her memory and i noticed her teeth were severely ground down, like you can see the dentin. Idk but it always distracted me every episode she was in. Then later in the season they have an episode right after another with her having all new teeth. The previous episode before that it did look like she had temporaries but it was hard to tell in the scenes and plus you can’t fabricate a good temp with the state her teeth were in. I’m mean they look good but just thought it was weird and very noticeable. Anyone else take notice to things like that in tv shows within the same season

edit: also the improper use of PPE in these shows and it often looks like people break sterile field
