Like they put all this money into a "wellness" room that is soundproof that you can "jam music or whatever you want" and I'm like that room will never get used lol

 

It's mandatory for people to come in Tues-Thurs where I work but they just announced everyone has to come Monday too at the start of the year

I have to come in 5 days a week no matter what, but I hope it gets overturned because my days are at least chill Monday and Friday. My chill vibes will be ruined

It's all so dumb. I have a 1-year-old. For me to come in I have to miss 3+ hours of his day, and now pay for daycare. Despite my pay not even keeping up with inflation lol

I hate this argument with a passion and I don’t even work a corporate job

no amount of nice leather couches and “open office plans” and stress balls and group kumbayah’s and after-work happy hours is gonna make me want to interact with 99% my coworkers more than necessary

And if I do make a friend or two, that’s just gonna distract me from working if anything

it is PROVEN that productivity INCREASED when everyone went to WFH. It’s also proven in other countries that shorter workweeks can increase productivity, due to less burnout and more pressure not to waste time with pointless meetings

But these boomer ass motherfuckers are dead set on finding an excuse to keep you in the office sun up to sun down so they can monitor you, and so they can just waltz into your cubicle / office and say “happy baby friday!!!!!! hey will you do ___ for me” that’s not your job

Can't control your existence if you're not in the office. who cares if productivity dives and all you do is still attend meetings via zoom.

 

I will never forget people praising the Bears this offseason for replacing Roquan Smith with worse linebackers in Tremaine Edmunds and especially TJ Edwards

 

I am absolutely more productive at home. I even start work earlier/sometimes work later than I normally would, plus I don't have to be in the car for 2 hours/day.

Like personally, if I worked from home, I would be 100% motivated. You know why? Cause I actually can finish in 5 hours if I work hard. And then I would simply prep dinner and ignore all the passive aggressive emails in my inbox about shit that isn’t my problem :)

in an office, staring at fluorescent lights for 8 hours a day regardless how much there is or isn’t to do, and having to constantly be available for people to waste your time and for higher ups to dump extra shit on you, would be so soul sucking and my focus now becomes “how do I idly pass all this time” rather than “how can I work more efficiently to finish this faster”
