So why trade him!?

He’s a free agent next year and he’s gonna get paid and we’re going into a rebuild? Pretty obvious lol

 

I forgot Judon was out. Though I also think you're well into that rebuild and should keep Uche haha

 

I wouldn’t be mad with that trade. He’ll fill Arden Key’s role from last year and if we don’t give him an extension, we likely get close to the same pick back if he signs elsewhere in the offseason

 

Meh. I’d rather not commit a massive contract to him and pocket a couple picks and start fresh. They like Jennings a lot and Barnore is healthy this year so they’re comfortable rushing the passer with them (evidenced last week when they had Josh Allen in dire straits)

 

Of the Pats big free agents Dugger is really the only one I’m interested in retaining.

1. The Broncos are not open to trading cornerback Patrick Surtain II, in fact, one team source described him as “the best and smartest player on the Broncos roster.” Denver is listening to offers on others like receivers Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton and linebacker Josey Jewell, but no offer has come close to motivating GM George Paton to make a move. A general manager who spoke to Denver told me, “The Broncos aren’t selling cheaply.”

2. The Eagles want to make another move even after adding safety and five-time Titans captain Kevin Byard. I expect Howie Roseman to be busy Monday morning. He’s poking around at linebacker.

3. The Baltimore Ravens are looking to add a running back, the Cleveland Browns are looking to add a receiver and the Buffalo Billsare scanning the cornerback market. The Washington Commanders are listening to offers on Chase Young and Montez Sweat. They want a second-rounder but have only received offers in the third-round range.

4. Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams and New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley aren’t getting moved by their teams. Both teams have told that to interested parties.

5. The Carolina Panthers are not actively shopping Brian Burns and are planning on keeping him.

6. DeAndre Hopkins and Derrick Henry look to be staying in Tennessee. Teams have called GM Ran Carthon on a number of players, and I was told Carthon is not moving on any offer unless it’s exceptional. (A source with the Cowboys also shared they never called about acquiring Henry.)

 

7. The Chiefs, Bengals, Rams, Falcons, and Texans appear to be standing pat based on multiple conversations around the league.

8. The 49ers are looking to add a few pieces like edge rusher and cornerback. They are working the phones.


9. The Jets aren’t getting many calls on Carl Lawson or Dalvin Cook.

10. The Arizona Cardinals want Marquise “Hollywood” Brown to be part of their future despite getting calls from interested teams. I expect him to stay in Arizona.

Lol it’s not real. But he’s gonna get a big deal, the Patriots won’t want to pay him that much, and I’d rather get picks now so we don’t have to deal with the comp formula

I’m not a big Uche fan. For a day 3 pick and then recoup the comp pick, sure? But otherwise, he’s too Yannick Ngakwe for my liking — a pass rusher who can’t stop the run commands a big price tag and either doesn’t see the field to pay off that investment or hurts you for half the snaps he’s on the field; neither of which is ideal

Jags DL is already good against the run. They just need someone else who can create QB pressure and get sacks besides Allen. And like I said if they can get him for a Day 3 pick, they’ll get that back if they can’t/dont re-sign him

But yeah doesn’t make a ton of sense for most other teams.
