I had to teach my actual students for a while!

He's just saying the things that keep mutating on the spike protein of COVID that change it up (The amino acids), are mutating more than twice as fast than any other endemic virus like flu and others. The implication being we're gonna be more likely to get infected multiple times a year with it than with other viruses we consider endemic to the population where usually we get it once and we're probably cool for a few months (Which for many of these viruses is long enough to get us past the season for it, while COVID is a year round thing so far), or maybe even a year or two before we're susceptible again.
