Inflation isn’t real. This is from an ad 28 years ago and video games then are the same price as current generation console games now

Okay but the console is 129 and the switch has been 399 for like thirty years now so

It’s pretty wild that the price of video games has been stable for so long. Then again, you play those old games and realize they were charging a ton for a lot of low effort, really shitty games.

Another nail in the coffin of any future for China. Each day the hope of reform dies and fascism grows.

These are in retaliation for UAV strikes launched from Syria that have hit a few US bases in the region over the last week, injuring a bunch of soldiers.

All I know about the purpose of the bases is that ISIS still has a presence in Iraq and Syria, so that's why we still have a presence on the ground

  19. They certainly do not hold any territory in those places

  20. you can read every single name here. why don’t you go through these and tell me which ones are lies

Even if somehow the numbers were half that, it’s still really fucking bad that many people died! “I don’t trust the numbers” basically means “I don’t give a shit.” What is a believable number and why is that even acceptable? The devaluation of Palestinian lives is unreal.

Oh agreed; I think at this point it's isolated cells, located basically in small villages scattered around each country. So technically, they could probably remove the bases and stick with the ones in Bahrain and Qatar (I'm sure Saudi allows a presence within their borders as well), but I guess it makes it faster to act on intelligence when you have troops and equipment already in the region, versus flying heli flights with Special Ops guys from Bahrain and Qatar

I am still a little torn on this. I think every comedian embellishes and changes story elements to get a feeling/point across, so I am unsure why he was propped up as the only one to do this and/or made to seem like he was extra about it.

I very much agree with his point that if the article was actually interested in truth in comedy then they would have researched more than just 2 comedy specials by one specific comedian. Feels more of a hit piece than an actual conversation starter.

Biases admitted on my end though because I like Hasan's work so I know that my opinion may skew that way. All that to say it's hard not to read that New Yorker piece and think anything other than they had a story already written and kinda squeezed everything into that preconceived notion. Hard for me anyways.

Yeah I saw some of video he released yesterday and based off what he was showing on the audio vs. what was printed, it certainly looks like they tried to paint him waaaay worse than what he actually said to them
