  2. Back in 2016, chorus.fm's first year, I met a user named @Lucas27 here in the forums. He introduced me to new music to love with his '16 AOTY list, and we developed mutual respect for each other's music taste. This evolved into us emailing each other, sharing song demos and detailing our dreams for writing and releasing music of our own. We soon became friends irl and were able to support each other and cheer each other on as our dreams became a reality. Funnily enough, we would eventually release our debut albums in 2020, our sophomore albums in 2021, and our third albums in 2023.

Today, I'm releasing the Deluxe Edition of that third album, Accidental Days, and it features a collaboration between me and @Lucas27 - a song we wrote together titled "After Love." I'm so proud of this song. I feel like we really pushed each other into new territory, capturing moments that call back to emo greats like mewithoutYou and Copeland, while also landing on the catchiest chorus of my career. He's genuinely one of my favorite lyricists working right now, and it was a pleasure getting to write with him -- all thanks to Chorus! So I'd love for everyone here to at least check out "After Love," and if you find yourself encouraged or challenged by the song's message of focusing on the love we give rather than the love we get, or if you simply dig the tune, we'd obviously love for you to share it around, add it to playlists, etc.

Also, if you haven't heard the rest of the album yet (or haven't heard it since March), the Deluxe Edition includes alternate masters of the original ten songs, breathing new life into them, plus there's a bunch of other fun bonus tracks, new songs, and commentaries. It's streaming everywhere now and available for free or pay-what-you-want on Bandcamp.

RIYL: Mae, Jimmy Eat World, House of Heroes, Dustin Kensrue, Switchfoot, Relient K, The Dear Hunter, Paramore

Oh! Fun fact: This is the second time that I've released a big expanded version of an album, and both times, the releases incidentally fell during the same release weeks as a new (Taylor's Version) by TSwift. Bad luck for me, I reckon!

I'm in love with the ordinary

Blink-182 all day baby..... oh wait, that was last week. To be fair though I'll still be listening to it all day today. Other than 1989 (TV), I don't see much I care about this week.

    Solid day!

    - The Gaslight Anthem (have high hopes this lives up to expectations and plan to go out for a wander to really delve in to it)
    - Taking Back Sunday (if the singles are anything to go off this is going to rip)
    - Crime In Stereo (never checked them out before but I've started with this today and I'm really enjoying it)

I was very cautiously optimistic about the new Gaslight, as they are a band that means so much to be. Coming back after nine years, you don't really know what to expect. Well, I think they delivered a fantastic album that needs many more listens to fully digest, but I LOVE what I'm hearing.

Also, new TBS is incredible. Exceeded expectations x 1000.

Starting to question if I ever liked TGA with how much I'm not into the new album.

New TBS and Crime In Stereo are excellent.

I'm very surprised the reception for this new TBS is so overwhelmingly positive here. It's not that I think the music is bad, it just doesn't have any of the trademark TBS competing dual vocals and has a much more mature laid back energy to it. I'd have personally liked at least a couple of those classic TBS signature moments sprinkled in but the album is still good. I just need to get over my own expectations of what a TBS record is I think. I'm left unsatisfied because I love those moments.
