It does get close to "They're Only Chasing Safety" territory though, haha

Not everything means something, honey Supporter

Wasn't expecting that comparison, hahah. Looking forward to checking this out after some Blink and Boys Like Girls. Too many huge releases at once.

Definitely overshadowed by blink today but this album is real good!

I like this a lot. It sounds very clean, which is a nice change for them. I think it was always a conscious choice to make it sound like they recorded inside of a running jet engine, but I love how crisp this album sounds. Definitely some of their best output in a while. Super stoked to see them in December!

Their best since Copacetic and their best production/sound since their EPs. Killer album

This is where I'm at. Copacetic and Shapeshifter had some great songs but sounded horrible (and both records had some real lyrical clunkers - Double Helix, looking at you). I wanted to like 20/20 but despite sounding "better" its production made every song run together and sound the same, so I just feel like the album lacks identity. This album feels completely reinvigorated and the mix has room to breathe, finally!

I can’t think of lyrical clunkers without thinking about the last line of Disdain

love the song soo much but there must have been a better way to write that last line besides making up a word

Their best albummmmm, love how they've maintained the youthful energy from their debut all these years, love this band

The you and I chorus melody and lyrics sounds so familiar. Is it another knuckle puck song they’re riffing off of or am I losing my mind ?

  14. Doing a discography listen before I get to the new one because it's been too long, and man were their EPs great.

    It’s in the OED

  17. If you played it in Scrabble, I would challenge. Apparently I would lose, but I'd still feel like I was right.

  18. I can't argue with that but it's not In Merriam Webster. It's an odd choice of word to end the song on, imo.

It just feels icky man idk

I would also challenge. The right tense is occupy.

This album has been occupating my speakers lately. Definitely a step up from 20/20.

I do miss the songs written with a thesaurus. Not a lot of bands are out here trying to teach us new words.

Thank god they stopped trying to sound smarter than they are. "Everyone Lies To Me" is almost perfect, save for the clumsy pronunciation of "outlier" (out-lee-er instead of out-lie-er) which kills me every time I hear it. There's usually at least one big lyrical cringe per album for me with these guys.

But this is by far their best.

Anybody else think the vocals are too low in the mix and the vocal hooks would be way punchier if you could hear them better?!

  24. Finally got to this after a full discography listen. Nothing they've done since the EPs quite matches those for me, but this is their best combination of production and songwriting yet on an album. It doesn't have a single song I love as much as "Evergreen" though.

Cannot believe how accurate this is, especially on "Act Accordingly."

This is the first time I haven't thought this about a Knuckle Puck full-length.
