It basically ended my friend’s engagement. His ex fiancé was obsessed. She didn’t even want him to take ibuprofen or anything just use essential oils.

the difference is, he doesn’t do it purely indiscriminately because I have a history of being riled up about the Jags. He doesn’t keep coming at me every single time I do what every other fan does and holding me to a different standard. He actually looks at the context and whether I brought it on myself or whether I was being reasonable and just got jumped on out of bias.

I wasn’t taking this argument seriously at all but now that it is serious, I feel like I should speak up and say - in actuality it’s valid for me to be like “hey one of the reasons I’m happy about football actually is because my QB isn’t a pompous douche, he actually is an easy guy to root for.” ANY fan would do the same thing.

It’s not that out of the ordinary, and neither is that one sentence tweet, but we are taking exception strictly because “here comes Randall again”. I don’t see how that’s not just as bad as me getting carried away with my own bias once in awhile. Y’all are legit biased about how I’m going to approach a discussion before you even read what I say. Cause at some point what are we talking about? Any time I say anything in support of my team when they’re getting criticized is a problem? That’s like this whole thread dude.

I say all this with respect because @imthegrimace I also think you have nuance about when you call me out and when you don’t, so I would really not like to see you and Dustin argue about this tbh.

 

I take some accountability in being perceived that way for sure but we cannot continue to let that dictate how our interactions go in here. That’s just not healthy. I’m trying to be different and I hope it’s noticeable that I am taking y’all’s responses into account with how I operate, and questioning my inner feelings more when I start projecting

 

honest question are we just not allowed to criticize or even take fun little jabs at the jags without it being perceived as "purposefully riling up randall"?

That’s not the problem. The problem is my response wasn’t ridiculous and THAT got criticized really unfairly, after y’all went on for like two pages about how corny that sentence on Twitter was. It’s a double standard to then be so annoyed by the Jags fans being like “that’s not even a consistent thing Trevor does”

 

At least mock the team in a way that makes sense is my point. There’s plenty, you don’t have to be that creative to find them. Nothing about my response is “how dare you criticize the Jags”. It just fell flat cause it doesn’t apply to any other sentence he’s ever uttered publicly lol

 

This has truly become absurd
