A new blink album dropping really gonna wreck havoc on my last.fm stats. The band already was running away with the #1 spot, but without Jimmy releasing a new album in a few years they're now lapping the field.

Lyrically, this thing is exactly what I want from blink at their age. I’m so glad they’re not pandering as much as they did on TOYPAJ & California

 

Right, I have a playlist that removed a handful of songs from deluxe with a couple of songs for DED added in that I absolutely adore. I revisit that more often than Untitled.

This album brings me joy. I love hearing Edging in the context of the album. Gets me so pumped.

I found the Zane Lowe interview to be great too. Especially the part where he wouldn't stop saying the word school and everyone was saying it too lmao.

 

They said the original Terrified was sitting on a hard drive for 20 years. We think any of the vocal tracks were reused, or did they re record from scratch?

 

Still refusing to accept the fact that the chorus of terrified says welcome rather than we’ll go.

Judging from the credits - mostly the different name of Tom's studio, and a different bass engineer – it seems "Edging" was the earliest song fully finished.

i like the songs terrified and anthem pt 3 so far. still need to listen to the second half

 

That’s the worst f bomb to have missing. Takes all the emotion out of line. I’d rather they left that in and removed the opening line about masturbation in the next track. My 8 year old had more questions about that than she ever had about the word fuck.

 

it's wild how much better TURN THIS OFF! and FUCK FACE are as songs, and for their purpose on the album, than Built This Pool and Brohemian Rhapsody. The Cali ones just feel so much like... very obvious attempts at the humor of "classic" blink, without really bringing anything to the table. The two new ones are pretty interesting and are still dumb humor but kinda in an adult way haha... hard to explain, but it's true

 

Not trying to take a dig at Nine, an album I do like, but Mark’s entire reaction when asked if Blink topped that album makes so much sense after hearing this one.

 

Bad News might be my fave. Such a TOYPAJ-esque jam.
