Not that I've seen. I know he was threatening to use drugs until he died if he didn't get to see his son, which is also bad, but again...complicated situation.

I think they’re corny as hell but as far as I know the only bad thing about them is their bassist being a sexual predator and they kicked them out.

if Bam really is sober and music is helping him stay sober, I can see Anthony being sympathetic to that and wanting to help out.

Yeah, to clarify I'm not saying he's not problematic, I'm just saying that if he is in fact sober, I hope that continues and I hope having someone like Anthony in his orbit could be beneficial.

 

Someone started a subreddit that summarized Bams old Sirius show episode by episode and holy fuck the dude is absolute garbage in so many ways

 

Two close friends who just visited me, both of which have met Anthony prior multiple times and are avid fans, caught an LS Dunes show back at the beginning of summer or around then and wound up at the bar next to a very much not sober Anthony ordering straight liquor. Kind as always, happy to say hi, but his eyes were pinned. It broke my heart to hear it. I hope he’s okay every day I listen to his music.

 

Starting stuff in the Deftones thread now spreading gossip in this thread.

 

I was always under the belief that Anthony’s great vice with addiction was heroin, not alcohol

 

Dude what the fuck is your problem. I actually removed myself from the thread and I just told you this is an actual account, not gossip. Get bent.

 

Heroin may be the worst of them but it’s never been just that. And alcohol can be a terrible gateway back into other substance abuse which is why I worry.

 

If I was no longer sober I wouldn’t want someone on the Internet spreading that shit. Esp since you weren’t there

 

lmao wait a second, you wanted to belittle me and make it out that I’m overreacting to not liking anti vaxxers // flat earthers and people who promote that shit, follow me into another thread and then make a stand + get upset about an artist being seen/spoken to in public by huge fans of his that very clearly recognized he was not sober. It’s not a secret Anthony has continued for years to relapse and struggle with addiction and I’m actually grateful he’s been open about it regularly. From the bottom of my heart, fuck off.

 

Mfer I didn’t follow you anywhere and people in that thread were generally talking polite most of the time to you. I didn’t agree with the dog piling and I actually didn’t say anything to you in there. Yet you were very rude and insulting to everyone in there trying to reason with you.

So what’s the endgame here by sharing that information in this thread? What do you expect us, the users of chorus dot fm, to do with it? Are we supposed to discuss it like a piece of gossip, are we supposed to reach out to him and question him about it when it might not really be our place to do so, or are we just suppose to internalize it and move on?

JFC why does there have to be a motive?! I’m sharing an account and that I hope he’s okay because my friends/fans of his saw that he’s not been living sober and OPENLY talks about how much he struggles with it to all of us on his platforms! The mental fucking gymnastics some of you pull are incredibly hard to understand.

 

Deftones thread aside, I think the post was well-intentioned but perhaps not thought out. I appreciate @Cameron putting a stop to the back and forth and hope we can move forward, it's not worth going on about.

 

Don’t worry, after a casual browse back on here today going the way it did I’m actually ready to delete my profile. Shit is gonna be fine for all of us.

 

Always hope the man can keep his demons at bay. He means a lot to me.

 

Genuinely though, is it just me or has chorus been getting a lot more toxic and/or socially unaware people than usual lately? Has Twitter finally become so unusable that they’re leaking into here? Getting flashbacks to the AP days with some of these people.

Also, side note if any mods are here: since that dude deleted his account can we please have his posts deleted? It feels kinda shitty to have gossip about Anthony (or really anyone) here. Especially surrounding sobriety stuff that isn’t anyone’s business really anyway.

I feel like there is a lot more general random rumor —> overwhelming discussion —> to dogpiling about non facts or non public topics than before.

But no reason to belabor this point. Definitely private matter. I think everyone here agrees conjecture about it isn’t healthy/helpful
