me, high and mighty with so much restraint, not listening to the WWWY clip 4 days before the album drop after playing the other 4 songs countless times in the last month.

i bet blink was in kahoots with the fest when tom wrote when i was young for DED, then he planned to leave for many years and come back. not for the first year of the fest, but the second. iT aLl mAkEs SeNsE nOw. or maybe they just like writing songs about eternal youth…

That song wasn’t basically premiered by a massive Livenation fest of the same name though, around the same time of the release.

I just think a giant corporation such as Livenation might of sent some cash to use the phrase “When We Were Young” especially when other giant brands have done the same in the past.
I’m not saying it’s definitely what happened but similar things have been happening behind the scenes for a while now.

chorus still rips just seems very convenient that they are releasing a song around the same time as the fest that could be used as a jingle that can be shared by their social media team for as long as “When We Were Young” is a thing.

Could be coordinated, could not be. I guess I don't really care either way as long as the song kicks ass.

 

Green Day closing the fest. Schedule out

 

Regardless the song title/ fest name lines up with the bands ethos coincidental or not, and most importantly I’m bored on a Monday afternoon without a new Blink album to play in the background

Still kinda baffled that Green Day are headlining over Blink in 2023.

Everytime I go out I at least hear 2-3 Blink songs, and people go wild for them everytime.

 

With Tom taking the lead on most of this album's vocals, is it possible that this was done to not push Mark too hard, post-recovery? He's mentioned previously that they're doing the bare minimum before shows so that he has enough energy to make it through a whole night. Just a thought.

 

Im gonna bet what Mark can and can't handle on tour isn't playing a role in how they write songs together. I've always viewed Tom more as lead vocals than Mark so this doesn't come as a shock to me, especially coming off of two albums where Mark was lead.

 

Maybe I've missed it, but I'm surprised there hasn't been more comments about blink now having a song called "When we were young" when they previously wrote a song called "when I was young." I guess it isn't all that surprising when we have Anthem pt. 3, letters to go pt 2 etc lol

 

That's been the case for a long time. Lol.
