I wasn't the biggest fan of this upon first listen (didn't hate it, just thought it was alright) but it has been growing on me with each subsequent listen. Not sure I have any clear-cut favorites as of yet but I'm quite enjoying my time with this one.

part of me wishes they didn't release "Try" before hand cause a big ass grin came up when I heard his voice on "Nobody Stays". Tom's songs are bangers

Really like this album. The first half definitely outweighs the latter half, but still enjoying every single song.

On a side note, there's SO MUCH music released today. Between this, Free Throw, Chelsea Cutler, Beartooth, and Driveways all releasing music, I've only been able to listen to this album a handful of times

I’m enjoying this quite a bit, but I don’t know if I really get the hype for Ultraviolet. Perfectly good song, but middle of the road Menz for me

Yeah a 2nd more devoted listen, this is very good. Tom's songs remain absolute joys to listen to.

Initial thoughts. Really good. Greg lyrics still great. Tom songs great. Production great. My one critique is there are some very strange melody lines on this thing. This will probably slot about even with HE or slightly under, but above RW.

Listened twice. It’s pretty good. Nobody Stays and take it to heart are my favorites currently.

Agree! Album sounds like it's played through a nostalgia filter. Very much into it.

Friends, I only got to give this two listens so far, and both were interrupted and not straight thru listens, but this album is fucking great. No bad songs, and at least a handful of absolutely incredible ones. I can only see this getting better and better with future listens. Absolutely incredible stuff, no surprise from these guys. So excited to be off work tomorrow so I can just sit and listen and give this album it's due.

these guys are so good it is almost a double-edged sword where they can release an incredible fucking album of damn fine music and everyone is just kinda like well yeah this is them we're talking about, but I am a little drunk after the end of a very long and very shitty week, and I haven't even had a chance to sit down and listen to the album all the way through without having to stop yet, but I think this is a special album and these guys are a special band

“Try” is my favorite here for sure, I like the title track and “Ultraviolet” too. The rest of the record kinda went in one ear and out the other. Definitely more interesting than Hello Exile, but this band might not be for me anymore. I’ll always have the first 4-5 records.

Second listen through and I enjoyed this much much more than my first listen. There's a lot of painfully familiar melodies throughout though that I can't put my finger on and that kind of bugs me. Like the "yooooou, yoooou" in Ultraviolet. Anyone know what song that might be reminding me of?

EDIT: Maybe it's a Death Cab song? My brain is conjuring Ben Gibbard's voice. Not sure how accurate that is.

EDIT 2: Got it. The Postal Service. Sleeping In. The "oooh's" after "Don't wake me, I plan on sleeping..."
