I'm nonbinary with they/them pronouns fyi. Also I think Max is a terrible person and I'm not engaging further. Expressing my dislike without being shitty to anyone, I don't see the problem.

 

I’m gonna listen to the album cuz I love Brian and Fred. SA was also a huge band for me growing up. Will I post about it or shout it out on social media hell no. Will I purchase any merch or vinyl hell no x2. I also don’t think it’s fair to tell others how they should not listen. You do you. Max is definitely very suspect right now but also to our knowledge he hasn’t physically or verbally hurt anyone correct? Just been a grifter and overall questionable husband/dad. Which again it’s also the fact we’re not in his family. We’ve also not heard from Sherri or the Kids asking for help/calling him out. Not saying what he’s accused of is ok.

 

Of course Max has to lean into nostalgia like always and title it...Is Committed lol.

 

Also the Darren King this is still super weird. Has Darren or his wife said anything about it?

 

For me, there are different categories of artists I feel uncomfortable listening to (if that is going to be defined as supporting). Max is in his own category. He's self-destructive, needs professional help, and doesn't always fulfill his kickstarter needs. Until he's literally destroying other peoples lives like so many other artists I used to put on a pedistool, I'm probably not going to feel bad listening to him. There are assholes and there are predators. And a bunch of other buckets.

I'm sure doing The Color Fred full time doesn't pay the bills, especially with three teenage kids. Probably just a financial opportunity he couldn't pass up.
I remember Fred once said that in 2014 Chris Carrabba made him an offer to be a full time member of Dashboard, but he wasn't ready to give up on his own thing just yet. Man, I really wish we were in an alternate universe where he said yes.
