I was lucky enough to be on the floor tonight and it was amazing hopping back and forth between stages to catch everything.

 

What a goddamn emotional wrecking ball of a rock show. I’ll have more thoughts but that was such an obvious career pinnacle from them and they treated it as such. Felt like the season finale of the whole project.

 

Watching this from the 200s was very funny.

Boyfriends isn’t their song, it’s a cover of a Marshall Vore and Ruby Henley song. They could theoretically get permission to record it but there’s probably reasons why they have not.

Anyone here listen to Sydney Sprague? Her new album (and last album) is really good, but this song in particular gives me boygenius vibes:

Especially the “is that fireworks or gunshots in the alley” line. Feels like something Julien would sing.

 

Oh, that's definitely the idea I got hearing it live hahh, I was thinking it sounds like a cover of a song I just hadn't heard. And this version you've posted sounds exactly like it instrumentally, should work great for people wanting to hear a studio version.

it getting nominated for best album would be a bit silly to me (i like this album a ton fwiw) but them getting nominated for best new artist would be so funny that it would rule

The Julien songs are cool, but I’d say this EP is their least essential release.

I love “Afraid of Heights” so much. The rest of the EP is good, but that’s the one.
