Not sure if you're still looking for something, but I'm currently in the middle of scanning digital versions of all the stuff I've made for students over the last couple years.

What are you looking to focus on with the exercises? I have a handful of stuff geared toward things like alternate picking, strumming, left hand finger strength, legato playing and such, so I may be able to send something to you. Most of them I use to keep sharp with my own playing as well.

Might take me a week or two though. Scanning in books worth of stuff a few pages at a time.

I'm looking for types of exercises that get you skipping strings a lot, and kind of mess with your brain I guess if that makes sense? Honestly don't know what to call them. I've been in some upper level guitar classes the past few semesters and my prof always gave us some cool exercises, but I didn't keep any of them and he hasn't responded to an email asking for some. Gotta keep the chops up, so anything regarding hand strength, legato, or what I mentioned above would be greatly appreciated!

Anyone know anything about the Line 6 HD500x?

If anyone knows the answer to this, I would be really grateful. I know there are movable chord shapes you can use around the neck that are just the shapes of the basic open chords, and the same kind of thing applies to power chords. I was wondering if there was a movable shape that allows you to switch between sus or maj7 chords? Or a min7 chord? I was shown a shape for the min7 but if anyone maybe has one that also has a deeper, bassier sound (if one exists) that would be cool.

Thinking about getting my Fender Tele Deluxe refinished in Seafoam green like Kevin Devine's. But with a matching headstock.

Nope though I'm considering a morning glory

Me too. I really just want an Overdrive that supwr transparent and sounds like driving an amp since I can't play loud in my apartment.

Acupulco Gold is cool but it's not what I thought it was

Other options: Walrus 385, that Archer pedal

Check out the walrus messner too, I like it more than the 385 for a clean OD. Their mayflower is the best drive IMO though. Thinking about getting the contraband fuzz too

and the Digitech Obscura, Digitech Vapor Trail, or Catalinbread Belle Epoch have me intrigued enough to try one out instead of dropping the cash on a Tonal Recall

the deco's flange is really cool

    any you're looking at?

I guess you could pick up a mini flange and a mini phase from that Moor brand pretty cheap. They seem pretty sweet

phaser - eqd's grand orbiter, ehx small stone and boss' phase

flanger - boss flanger, ehx electric mistress, mf flange, ibanez's flanger

just not sure which effect i prefer haha. the differences are pretty tough to discern

Oh yeah sometimes it is really similar sounding. Sometimes it's pretty different though. Flange is the kind of jet engine sounding effect. I only recently became interested in that sound. I heard Tame Impala putting the effect on their drum kit during fills. sounds awesome. It's actually time based the sound comes from very minute delay between identical signals. Phase to me is more filter-y kind of like an lfo on a synth. You prob already know this so sorry haha

haha definitely. i read the theory behind the differences, it's just difficult for me to pinpoint when i hear it in musi which of the two a band is using

    all we have is time

Not familiar with those in particular, but I absolutely love and recommend Catalinbread pedals. Never played around with the Belle Epoch though.. but as a brand you can't go wrong with them.

So, I need help setting up my live show. I put out an album a week ago and I've never really focused on the technical aspect of what gear I need. Who can help me get an amp and the right pedals to replicate my album?

  23. EngineDown

this is a very loaded question haha. what kind of guitar do you have?

I figured so lol. I've got a fender strat and a tom delonge epiphone. I know what kind of pedals I need to recreate my album in a live environment, I just have no idea which specific ones and I need a lot of help

  25. EngineDown

okay that's a lot easier haha, what kinda of pedals do you want? also what amp do you have
