I think he’s more Trubisky (no one would touch him as a bridge starter but a contender would take him to sit and marinate behind their actually good QB) than Darnold/Mariota/any of those other recent guys

Could definitely see this, but I think they stick ultimately with Jimmy for one more year. The owe him quite a bit of money next year

 

Didn’t know what his contract was after this year. Was just thinking of the McDaniels connection haha. Mac was ok the one year they overlapped

 

His contract is kind of similar to what Derek Carr’s was last year where, if Jimmy is on the roster by day x of the new league year, his 2024 salary is fully guaranteed.

The problem is that he still has another notable year on his contract so even designating Jimmy as a post-June 1 cut in the offseason before the new league year wouldn’t net them much savings.
