I agree, but at the same time, there’s really only a small pool of bands in that field that they can book. And none of them are on the same level SOAD is. I guess they’re giving another chance for people that couldn’t score tickets last year

 

Tool or Rammstein seem like the only other two options I could see on the same level as SOAD. And even Tool might be a stretch since they still regularly tour.

 

Tool was the only other hand that came to mind for me. And I guess Slipknot could also be a Korn-level option

 

Also, Faith No More would slap at that fest

 

Have had a few days to think about my Vegas trip. The sphere was incredible. It’s the future of concerts. Sound was great, the screens are the real deal. I was in the mid 300s, didn’t seem like there was a bad spot to be in the 200,300,400 levels. Would not recommend the back of the 100s level seats. The ceiling definitely would impact your viewing experience.

It felt massive. U2 sounded great. 2 hours flew by. Felt like they really showcased the potential of the sphere early in the show. There were times in the middle where not a lot was happening on the screens, felt like they could have done more to utilize it for every song. Would definitely go again for another act. It never felt overwhelming, I was so impressed and marveled at everything.

Caught Boys like Girls at House of Blues Vegas Monday. Nothing but Thieves there the following night. Gaslight Anthem at Brooklyn Bowl then Diplo at XS Nightclub the next night. U2 at the sphere the last. Wild time. Nothing but Thieves surprised me, was blown away by them

 

Who would you all like to see do shows in the Sphere?

 

Someone mentioned it in here earlier, but a NIN show in the Sphere would be insane

 

I’ll also add Primus to the list. They usually have visuals/projections at their shows. Now, a whole sphere of stuff they project? It’d be terrifyingly exciting

 

I wonder if there's any band in the "scene" that is big enough to have a show there

 

there was a short time after the Astroworld tragedy that crowds were more tame at shows I attended; also noticed artists calling out when people were hurt and alerting staff to provide assistance.

 

Fall Out Boy or MCR are the only two I can think of. Paramore too

 

This will be an awesome sideshow for WWWY24

 

Not really big enough for a 20K venue, but I just know Bring Me the Horizon would destroy there.

 

Muse could do some interesting stuff at The Sphere

 

MCR, Paramore, FOB could all do it. Probably not 30 nights but maybe a 2-3 show stint.

 

Definitely excited for the Sick New World lineup. Off the top of my head acts that didn’t play last year that could be in play: Limp Bizkit, A Perfect Circle, Tool, Slipknot, Stone Sour, Taproot, Trustcompany, Powerman 5000, Mudvayne, Disturbed, Adema, Staind, Creed, Smashing Pumpkins, Insane Clown Posse, Rob Zombie (White Zombie?!) Puddle of Mudd, Godsmack, Cypress Hill, Ice Cube, Mike Shinoda.


All this speculating is just making me want Korn and Limp to bring back the Family Values tour

 

Tame Impala would get me back in an instant. Same with The 1975. Definitely could see 75 playing at the London sphere once it’s done. I’d go for MCR

 

Nine Inch Nails at the Sphere would blow peoples minds

 

It'd be cool if they added some more nu metal C-listers to Sick New world such as The Apex Theory, Boyhitscar, Dredg, Onesidezero, etc

 

The singer from Onesidezero has a different band now called Centershift

 

Won’t happen but the best from the scene might be Coheed. So much storytelling and existing designs built in. Find a way to truncate the core 5 albums of the Amory Wars saga into one cohesive audio/visual spectacular… would be legendary

 

Honestly? I think Coheed were to ever split up or go on a hiatus, I could see them doing a show like that at the Sphere as a “final show” or a “farewell for now” show. People would easily travel for it. Especially if the support was right. They could go out with a bang with a massive production

 

lol they couldn't fill even an 1/8th of that venue.
