  11. I feel like a hash brown is a single entity you can pick up with your hand and is more compact/dense but shredded home fries are looser.

NJ’s not BAD to be clear. And having access to even better cities is obviously a plus. But MD is underrated. A lot of it is cute as hell. I personally really like it’s nature and the “style” of neighborhoods if that makes sense

  15. NJ is just a place with access to decent things. Living here is whatever, you won't see me try to defend it.

NJ has a lot of nice places and a lot of shitty places, just like any other state IMO. Lots of nice cities, lots of nice suburban areas, lots of rural areas (esp in South Jersey)

I enjoyed growing up there, but knew I was never going to buy a house there because the property taxes are literally absurd

My criteria is super subjective. I basically want to be able to get into or out of a city and back home within 25 minutes, but also really enjoy my home area when I wanna walk around or ride my bike.

Spiffa is in that sweet spot, he is 25 minutes from Philly. But Maryland suburbs themselves have neat little town centers and park systems connected by bike trails and shit… and half of them aren’t just cul de sac suburban with every house looking the same. I find that to be pretty rare in east coast metropolitan areas. DC’s suburbs on the MD side are great, Annapolis and it’s suburbs are great, Baltimore suburbs are hit or miss but they’re cheaper & the north side and the Chesapeake coastline has some pretty special stuff

I like the idea of MD having awesome places to live and be entertained regardless whether you’re single city person or someone who wants to raise a nuclear family.

I don’t have THAT MUCH nature in Baltimore, but I do have a roof top deck apartment I can afford, I do live very close to a beautiful major city park and very close to the water, and everything i like to do in town is either a nice bike ride or a short drive away. Philly is a little more expensive, a little more gritty, and a little more cramped, (although I would still live there for the amount of music opportunities it has. But I’m also content living in Baltimore and playing in Philly with Philly bands maybe 3-5 times a year.)

“defend” is a weird word. I just like to compare and contrast places I’ve been. If you have lived in one area and you’re content there’s nothing wrong with that. I’ve had good reasons to move a lot in my life and I’m pretty accustomed to being semi-nomadic - my dad being in the navy and all. But that doesn’t mean everyone has to be particular about where they live

My opinion of New Jersey is there’s exaggerated wealth inequality. You either live in a fuckin Downton Abbey looking wealthy area with Tudor style homes, or even if you’re on the upper side of middle class you live in a bland cookie cutter suburb. I grew up going to Princeton to visit my aunt and uncle a lot, and that part of NJ is elite - but you gotta be a successful lawyer or doctor or Princeton University professor to live there. Whereas Riverdale MD has a lot of the same amenities of Princeton, but isn’t nearly as fancy and uppity and is more accessible to like, families of Dominican immigrants who worked hard to provide a better life.

    The rivalry is back on

    I have bad news

Now that JT is back and extended, my hopes are up on this team’s future. This year is probably 7-10 wins, but then they have $70M and a franchise tag left to bring back Pittman, Kenny Moore, Grover Stewart, and Julian Blackmon. Richardson looks fun, Steichen seems good, they’ll have an entire draft class to hopefully just improve on this year’s roster

Fully bracing for something stupid to happen on Sunday and to go back to square 1
