  1. Do we know Deftones for sure? Considering traveling for this fest, and Deftones would be a huge motivator

It’s October. None of them are sure things at this point

    Don't ask - I don't know which

    but

There are bands definitely booked for Riot 2024 already

Tool tour announced today with no Chicago date. No Chicago on their current tour either. Probably doesn’t mean anything… but something to think about

Tool is #1 on my "god I hope they never play Riot Fest" list, I just have no interest at all

  6. I'd watch a few songs, but there are many, many headliners I'd rather see.

I feel like after getting MCR and FF the argument some people had in the past saying "they are too big for Riot Fest" goes out the window.

I know it's extremely selfish but I rather not have a huge band like that every night because it gets way too crowded and it brings in crowd that is mostly interested in one band only and that crowd usually suck.

    It's chaos. Be kind. Prestigious

Personally, I hope Tool plays Riot Fest so I can watch someone else or go home early.

That might be the first year I will try to sneak food in. Ain't no way I'm standing 50 minutes in line to get cheese curds again.

RF would be the perfect opportunity to see Tool tbh. Have to feel like them or Green Day will be the FF level band next year.

never seen Tool but would love to, wouldnt mind it at riot (would actually prefer it since a ticket to see them alone is pricier than id like, hah). Ideally with an Aenima album play but i doubt that ever happens.

If Tool ever plays, I wonder if they will have A Perfect Circle and Puscifer ptoo, in the same way they did Quicksand/Rival Schools/Gorilla Biscuits.

I'll be down for more musicians playing with their different projects

Most of the Tool dates are cities/arenas they didn't play last year

Also Maynard has only played once in September with any of his bands since like 2010 because of his vineyard

Tool is a solid headliner to me. I'd watch a few songs and really enjoy it but I wouldn't need to watch the entire set, care about getting close, etc... And the odds are good I really wouldn't care about most of the rest of the Riot stage acts that day either if they curated it around them. So there'd be fewer conflicts. LOL

This sounds very plausible, I think that Puscifer/APC tour is skipping Chicago too.

Oops, I didn’t realize I accidentally posted it in the Riot 2023 thread lol. But we have a new “maybe.” Alkaline Trio tour hits Chicago in March

Green Day announced a tour at their surprise Vegas show tonight for next year. It’s them smashing pumpkins rancid and Linda Linda’s. Might have 1 or 2 of the headliners for next year on the tour unless they do wrigley

Come on Green Day playing Dookie! Hopefully they will announce the tour this week so we know whether to bother speculating them once again.

I bet the dates get announced Monday. I remember when Hell Mega was announced, those fliers were handed out at a show on a Friday night, and then it was announced the following Monday

i am so here for Green Day doing their own 'Summer Sanitarium" type reoccurring tour where its a similar layout each year just differing bands plugged in (curious if it will be called HellaMega again).

That type of tour is always fun, seeing what they put together each year .. rob zombie is doing something similar with his 2nd year of freaks on parade tour with first year being more nu-metal, 2nd year being more industrial

At the SoCo reunion show, they announced a cruise with them, Jack's Mannequin and Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness.

It would be cool to have Andrew's 3 bands playing Riot next year same way Walter Schreifels did

  25. SoCo is the one I haven’t seen and want the most, but the more the better. His set in 2015 was so much fun.
