I'll write you into all of my songs Supporter

My biggest complaint for the show was the lack of energy in the action scenes, waiting for a Star Wars show to really nail that pacing and choreo

big bummer knowing the Ghost crew (and Ahsoka) either all dies or fails in the next 20ish years though

Well the Ghost is in Rise of Skywalker so we know some of them make it.

I will say that Filoni’s film was the one I was least excited for of the three, but this series has it on par with the other two for me now.

What's frustrating is them having to spend time in their shows justifying Palpatine's return. What's fine is they're at least doing an okay job of it. Sabine with "that's what they say" when asked if he's dead isn't a bad thread if they pre-emptively built some doubt existing within the resistance, but it's all just backfilling now.

Release My Mind, My Garden Grows

My thought are kinda scattered at the moment so apologies for the long post:

I enjoyed probably a third of this ep but I was pretty disappointed/frustrated with the finale after an overall decent season.

The lack of any story resolution at all is pretty lame, just setting up for the next thing which is my biggest complaint with the way disney handles shared universe/continuity stuff...

Lots of teasing and hinting at a greater threat that led to more teases and hits... give us something other than hints ffs. It gets old after a while. Like we got the owl and big Mortis god statues which is cool to see but its all just surface level references right now.

Also with the way they portrayed him here, Thrawn does not feel like the genius level tactician they built him up to be. I know his ultimate goal is to rebuild the empire but if we knew what his actual goal was with the Night Sisters/Dathomir or saw some scenes of whatever he was doing over the past 10 years on Peridea I'd feel differently, instead we just get a throw away line from Ezra about the time gap. As it stands I just don't feel like he's as big a deal as they want me to think he is. I dont really feel a sense of worry or dread with him.

Pacing felt way off with this ep and they seriously would've benefited from letting scenes breath a bit. The 40-ish min runtime made it seem like they had to rush everything and move on to the next thing just to make sure they hit every story beat they wanted to touch on. For example I would've loved to have seen an extended scene of Ezra's reunion with Hera but they just cut away right when he revealed himself. I love when we get scenes like Ezra building his saber and talking with Huyang. We needed way more stuff like that especially for Ezra who I feel we barely got any time with to develop.

I'm very glad Sabine finally figured out her force powers, and I love the callback to Luke in the cave on Hoth but her immediately being able to use the force to help Ezra jump onto the Chimera was completely unbelievable to me (not in a good way). Im also all for her staying to help Ahsoka. I'm hoping next season they can figure out a way to write her better. Some more scenes showing her training with Ahsoka and making significant progress with her Jedi skills at the beginning of s2 is 100% needed.

Single scenes for both Shin and Baylan at the end was a massive bummer for me too. Them not being involved in the events of the finale at all was a huge fumble but I'm a little biased since they're my favorite characters in the show.

Anakin force ghost scene didn't feel earned to me but I do like the implication that he could be more involved going forward, giving Ahsoka a chance to have some interesting conversations with him, especially with the reveal of the Mortis god stuff and what that may lead to with Anakin/Ahsoka.

This was fine. Definitely feel like I would have enjoyed it more if I watched the 17 seasons or whatever of the cartoon show thing.

Ezra or any other Ghost crew member stealing a ship is basically in their DNA.

  10. Finale was ok. As much as I like Ezra and the live-action casting, the show peaked with eps 4 & 5 for me. The fight between Ahsoka and Elsbeth was fun, but the staging of the fight between the 3 jedi and the storm troopers was awful. Watching them all just stand in place and deflect laser blasts is so boring.

Andor really set the bar too high for these other star wars shows.

The stolen ship thing is funny because people who love Rebels are just like “yep that tracks” where a lot of people who haven’t seen rebels are like “nahhhhh”

As much as I loved Baylan, I do think it would be best to write him out opposed to recasting. I feel like seeing Ahsoka, Sabine, and/or Shin unraveling the mystery of what led to his demise would work better than a recasting.

Personally would find it pretty sad if they decide to not continue Baylan's story because of Ray's death. I think its actually far more respectful to the deceased to properly continue the character's story and conclude his arc as originally planned rather than just scrapping his story altogether.

I know this is just me justifying it because i want more Baylan, but it's almost like saying someone's dying work was actually kinda meaningless if you can scrap it so easily.

The Ashoka Elsbeth fight was killer. For those who don't know, that was all Diana Lee Inosanto was trained by Bruce Lee. He was her godfather so that was all her. They probably held her back if anything. That was rad.

I was a big fan of the series, but it’s the one time I kind of wished for a flashback episode. Would have been kind of cool to get an extra episode and see some of what Thrawn and Ezra went through during that time. Probably would help with some of the criticisms I’ve read.

I still don’t really get how Ezra was basically hanging underneath Thrawn and Thrawn’s just like “oh yeah he’s around here somewhere.”

Watching the live Star Wars Explained right now and they were talking about the possibility that Peridia is also Mortis from the Clone Wars. That they are one and the same. There is a Kenobi line from the arc saying he doesn’t know if they’re in the same galaxy. That could explain the statues at the end. We shall see.

Oh boy, I just saw someone suggest Chopper should get a hallway scene at some point. Now I need it. The Mandoverse can’t end until we see him wheeling down a hallway duel wielding blasters.

Was reading some interesting theories about the show and connections with the Father/Son/Daughter. Apparently in the Legends Fate of the Jedi series (which I admittedly own, but haven’t read), a fourth being is introduced who’s a human servant granted their immortality and power, but it drives her mad and into a Dark Side creature named Abeloth that the three then imprison only for her to be later freed and defeated by Luke/Leia and their kids. Could also be a potential storyline with Baylan searching for an immortal Dark Side entity to alter the force in some way.

From what I was reading, and I can’t cite anything, but I guess in some interviews Filoni has said he HATES Abeloth which could mean he wouldn’t do it or could mean he’d wanna do a “right” version of it.

  25. Brian Cox is also too old and expensive but would play a great Baylan. I think there's an underrated reserved side of his acting that is not shown in Succession.
