This is wild. I play most games for the story.

 

I feel like I should rephrase this then:

Have you ever played a multiplayer centric game or an indie or something that you're primarily playing for the mechanics and not for the story and they have unskippable cutscenes? Those are the ones I'm talking about.

I mean, all games should have shippable cutscenes regardless because nothing is worse than when you are fighting a boss and there's a long cutscene when you walk in the room and then you die and you have to watch the cutscene all over again.

 

This I at least relate to, as there are certainly times this has happened to me, or times when I realize I've missed some minor thing for an achievement and have to redo a section of a game. I get it.

 

Now there is the very rare case where I rather the gameplay be skippable so I can get to the cutscenes.

RDR2 comes to mind.

We really gotta stop spending money on these live service games. Take up smoking cigarettes instead.

 

As a healthcare professional I can confirm it is better for your mental health to do the latter. Spending money on NFT and Live service games will lead to a life of depression.

I still haven't gotten over the shutdown of Princess Connect Re:Dive Global.

 

Honestly, shutdowns of any online games tends to bum me out.

MMOs you'll never play again, team deathmatch you'll never win in, leaderboards you'll never top, it's very sad.

I've always been able to add and remove skills through console commands easy enough with a list of skill ids, but it's still a little pet peeve of mine that Bethesda never builds in a way to respec

 

Justin Davis from IGN used to review tons of mobile games back when mobile games were just getting started/getting big and has talked about how there's just a metric ton of games, some from very famous game developers and now they're all gone

 

Sony/PS have to right the ship quick or else their bets are going to lose LOTS of money on all those live service games.

 

I mean it’s not like service games aren’t very popular, it’s just that you need some luck to pop off
