I also don’t get this dire need for a new stadium. They JUST built this one in like, 2014 and it’s still pretty easily a top 15 stadium in the league (and a top 5 outdoor one)

Imagine investing in 150 foot wide, widescreen videoboards, still the largest in the league (aside from the useless ones that wrap around the whole stadium and you can’t see shit on them), for a stadium you are just gonna demolish and demand $1 billion from tax payers for a new one in 10 years

 

Teams literally don’t even be needing new stadiums. Washington downgraded locations from RFK and have kept shitty FedEx Field, in the middle of nowhere, open for like 30 years and it’s leaking sewage and their owner was disgraced for years and forced out and they still sell out games

fuckin, look at Lambeau. All they do is constantly renovate it and it’s great. One of the most iconic and historic stadiums to visit in sports.

And speaking of podunk places… there has not been this level of urgency for the Patriots to move out of Foxborough! That’s a horrible place for a stadium but they’re not like “hey let’s move this franchise to LONDON if we can’t extort the taxpayers for $1billion”

He’s not only an owner, he’s one of the RICHEST owners and is just throwing a tantrum because building $3000 a month luxury apartments in Jacksonville is never going to work. As much as Jax may be a lame city, I hate the classism of “fuck these working class people who have been lifelong fans we need to surround ourselves with more money and publicity and be more famous” even more. Hence why I’ve hated the Rams since they moved to LA

Don’t just take 0 accountability and then whine that you need taxpayer money or to move to another city. St Louis Rams were plenty popular when they were playing in superbowls.
