yes! His voice has clearly changed over the years. Not all at once on FOAM lol. And yes there are more vocal effects on FOAM but nothing that makes him sound as unrecognizable as you’re making it seem. People said the same shit about 21CB and the trilogy. It’s different but still clearly him.

For a band that's been around since 1987, they have a remarkably strong track record in general. The Kerplunk to American Idiot run is absolutely wild when you think about it.

The way they mixed the vocals is unlike how they did before. You know this is true, you've said it in this very thread!

Just here to rep my love for Kerplunk. Brilliant songs all around! I'd love to hear them play some more of those songs live, give 'em a bit more love than they usually get. It's a very lovely transitional record from 39/Smooth (also underrated, I love it more than most) to Dookie & I really appreciate that aspect of its sound & songwriting.

it is truly not that different than the filters used on the trilogy or RevRad, and I’ve never denied people have talked about that for years. I’ve been in those conversations. the major differences are the kind of pop flourishes and editing that Butch Walker does on the vocals from time to time on the record. But he sounds like himself throughout imo.

Like I said, I haven't listened to 21st Century Breakdown, the trilogy, or Revolution Radio front to back, but I've heard singles and other songs from each of them, and didn't enjoy those songs enough to take the time to listen to the albums in full. Why would I listen to an entire album front to back if the singles/random others songs didn't grab me? Especially with Green Day, who probably isn't even in my top 50 most listened to bands haha.

Uneducated on what topic? His voice sounding like normal BJ vs sounding different/higher on some of the songs on FOAM? I know what his voice sounds like, man. I don't know what else to tell you.
