Fun fact: I live down the street from the Donnie Darko house and Patrick Swayze's mansion from the movie. They're also right next to Ferris Bueller's house, and Jim's house from American Pie.

Got pulled away from it but really enjoying Lord of Illusions so far almost halfway in. Anything that Clive Barker touches is grimy and dark and I love it so much.

Did some Gore-Us extra credit with the two Family Matters Halloween episodes. Really fun episodes. Don't think I've ever seen them before tbh. Sitcom Halloween episodes hit different. Loved them.

All the other Family Matters Halloween episodes are great too. The Winslows have great decorations every year.

Donnie Darko is a top five film for me. Currently watching Scream on AMC.

The Night Flier was fun, the exact kind of direct-to-video quality 90s schlock that has surprisingly good makeup effects that I love.

On par with Pumpkinhead 2 and Night of the Demons 2. Miguel Ferrer plays the most angry man of all time for no reason.

Talk to Me has been on my mind a lot since watching it over the weekend. There’s a lot I love with how brutal some of the scenes and was truly terrifying at times. I enjoyed it being another movie that captured living in a digital age like Host. That said, I am growing tired of horror that is a straight forward metaphor for trauma. At its basis, trauma is ingrained in the genre, but this style is becoming too much for me.

Its leading more to more 80s/90s sleaze and cheese.

Watched Sanctuary, wild and unhinged. Not sure if it even counts as horror but what a weird one.

No One Will Save You : I found the minimal dialogue an interesting approach, and I like that in a way the movie can kind of be seen as an intimate character study. The plot takes some nice unexpected turns, but it's just a little bit too twisty for me. I do like the ending because it reminds me of Midsommar and of course Kaitlyn Dever's performance is--pardon the pun--absolutely stellar

The Thing and the Shining are the best movies I’ve seen in theatres, the big screen really helps
