    Things have changed.

Yeah but to gen pop? Not really. They're basically classic rock at this point.

  2. What's the difference with Blink needing to prove anything with Tom then? I don't think I follow.

FUCKIN SAVAGES IN THAT FUCKIN BOX Prestigious

I would love to love another Green Day record, but I have little faith. I didn't even listen to the entirety of every track on FOAM. If the next album doesn't hit me I'll probably be at the point of not even checking them out

I personally have not cared about Green Day since 2004

    this is all there is

I'm thankful for Green Day existing and probably influencing a ton of other bands, and I don't reach to change it when they show up in a playlist, but I have no plans to listen to them on purpose probably ever again.

Green Day has done nothing for me since Warning. I get the love for American Idiot but it all got so polished and cheesey imo.

American Idiot rips and I have a hard time motivating myself to think of much to say about everything after it. I hope they put out something that I’m into again.

Do people not like 21st century breakdown? I don’t love all of it but some of its good. I loathe 21 guns though. My hot take is that there are some gems on the trilogy and there’s a fantastic album in there between the three (I adore the song sweet 16, I like when Billie sings about his wife).

I didn’t get into Green Day when I was in high school (their active era being the Trilogy during that time didn’t help!) and I feel like it won’t hit the same trying to get into them at 26

I love everything up to and including American Idiot. Never listened to most of the stuff after that. I gave their most recent one a listen a couple months ago and it has like 2 good songs

I like 21CB but it’s definitely bloated and has some meh songs, but nothing egregious compared to a certain 4 albums by them

Green day just aren’t relevant at all right now. 30 year anniversary dookie tour next year could change that with good support and they drop a good album with it.

93xrt and q101 in Chicago would disagree, Green Day is still in heavy rotation. They also headlined lollapalooza last year and the crowd was massive and they basically broke the metro’s website. They’re relevant just maybe dormant is the right word.

Anyway, this More than you know song is my favorite thing blink has put out in over a decade, it rules.

Great vocal performance by Tom. I honestly reached a point where I thought he'd never sing that way again. Suddenly his voice is great.

Green Day are in their 50's. For them to still be able to do something fresh and relatable might be asking for a lot from them. I don't know where else they could take their sound or songwriting. You could argue that Blink underachieved the last two decades leading up to their upcoming album since Tom either hasn't been around or hasn't been fully focused until now. Green Day has had the same lineup for like 33 years now.

At this point, I'm happy for Green Day still being able to sound great when they perform live. In terms of new material, I am more excited for what bands like Hot Mulligan, Mom Jeans, and Sincere Engineer will do during the rest of this decade.

Willing to believe most bands just pull words out of a hat to get their names.

  25. I was at the gym tonight and listened to both of the new songs again and they both hit really strongly for me, haha. Probably a mix of endorphins and listening on headphones but I was jamming out.
